I just noticed that today my Favorites button "q" will only work to pull up the menu, not to close it. To close the menu I have to press tab now...

I tried starting a new game and I got stuck at the part where you name your character. Nothing would confirm the name. I pressed enter, I clicked the "Yes" icon i pressed "e" and nothing. had to Alt-Tab-Del and shut down TESV.exe

Map will pull up but tab will no longer work to close it, now I have to press "m" again

I cant use mouse 1 to set my favorite anymore I now have to use "e" Clicking it does not work.

Also dragons will no longer engage me, I used dragonrend and everything and it would not land then it just flew away.

I do not want to download any mods to fix this I just want it to work like it did the other day when I played last. I just read that it will take a week to fix this what am I supposed to do until then? Is there a way to go to the original version, WITHOUT downloading any additional files from other sites? WHat about doing a system restore to go back a few days thru windows? would that revert me? I have done that before but it still kept some files... I want this poisoned .exe gone and the regular game back

Just tried creating a new character and I can't exit the creation screen by pressing R, no key combo works, ESC just brings up the system menu. I haven't remapped any keys at all. Oh dear...

Yeah this issue came as quite a surprise for me as well. So far as I know there are several ways around it. The first involves Backing up then deleting the ControlMap_Custom.txt file in the skyrim folder. This should allow you to play using the default controls which you will be able to see in game through the settings menu. Do not attempt to remap anything as it will cause the same problem all over again immediatly. I have heard of this causing some people to crash but if it does just put the backup file back.

This will require running steam in offline mode until the new hot fix arrives but may be an acceptable option. Personally after playing with my key map for 50 some hours I don't feel like adapting to a new one for a week.

I have tried both of these successfully. The other options such as the skyrim key helper mod and the scripts that have popped up I can't say but if they work as advertised then it is a viable option but requires downloading extra software.

Mouse and keyboard input not working properly for me.

Have you tried going into the in-game settings and clicking the "DEFAULT" button on the key bindings section? Even if you didn't re-map the keys try hitting the default button and see if it makes a difference.

Hmm, i tried resetting to default controls with no luck. Also tried backing up and deleting that file from the Skyrim folder with no luck.

I am also noticing that my fast travel is not working either, when I try to travel to a location the map just closes.

Also tried the "Hard coded interface tweaks" mod and it did absolutely nothing for these problems.
