buying old world blues? is it ok before 'house'? (spoiler al

Post » Mon Aug 08, 2011 7:09 am

i have been playing FONV for quite some time, mainly just exploring and racking up the deathclaw kills and trying wipe out nests or queens or whatever their sources are - like the cazadors.. my god they are tough and i wonder if i clean out the nest will they stop building those weird little nests onto walls all over the place cos since i've been playing more have definitely appeared.

aaanyway... i want to buy OWB.. let me rephrase that.. i want to buy AND play OWB... i've done over 125 quests [on xbox360] and wondering is it ok to play DLCs before finishing main game? i cleaned up the strip, am idolised there, liked by the kings tho only talked to king once [cos i wiped out leaders of vipers? i think].
i would like to play al the DLCs but won't there be a problem if i haven't finished the main game?

thnx

It's actually the other way around: you can't play the DLC if you've finished the main game (although the console versions do a system save when you select "yes" when asked if you want to do the endgame sequence, so you can go back to that anyway). So yeah, go ahead :)

This game has no "Broken Steel" ending. So you have to do the DLC before you finish the last main quest. Because you can't do DLC after.

so if i've beaten the game and went back to my save before i went to hoover dam i couldn't use the DLC?

Not what they meant. That would be ridiculous. If you have a save before the battle, then you can play the DLC. If you don't, then you can't unless you start a new game.

No, you can. As long as it's before "the point of no return" i.e. the message popping up.

oh ok. so as long as it's not a save at the final battle it's ok. now i gotcha.

cool... i'm getting it. thnx!
tbh, the only reason i'm getting it is cos it's over 400mb whereas the other 2 are only 250 mb or so and, in a weird way, i'm hoping more data means more gameplay - tho i gotta admit, a lot of the FO3 DLCs were awful and boring. poss 2 decent ones, maybe 2 and a half at a pinch. also, old world blues reminds me of 'real folk blues', the song at the end of cowboy bebop [1998 manga]... great days!

FO3 was great, FONV is greater. better....
but...
deformable terrain would've been so cool. there were times when i tried to destroy, say, a cazador nest, or cave in the entrance to a DC cave with C4 but nothing. or collapse a building with a load of cazador nests in it [ yep. i truly HATE cazador cos they're too damn fast and tough [for 'tough' i'm guessing that's just their speed] only the tesla takes em down from distance cos area effect, except, obv, a nuke]. why are they damn tough? sorry, getting off topic again.

thnx guys

There's a good amount of content, but a lot of those mb are from new music (There's a new station with a limited playlist; the cool thing is that it plays everywhere, even other DLCs. "Begin Again" at night, in Zion, is pretty awesome).
