Buying a Sager laptop to mod Morrowind

Post » Mon Dec 19, 2011 8:48 pm

I want to play Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim with 25+ frames per second. I am saving an extra $5000 so when the X79 desktop platform comes out in mid 2012, I can buy a kick ass gaming desktop. This laptop that I'm wanting to get right now is intended just for modding Morrowind and playing Oblivion and Skyrim. I will be working on the TESIII mod projects "Tamriel-Rebuilt", "Province:Cyrodiil", "Skyrim:HomeOfTheNords" and "Pelagiad Expanded"(Regaez's and my project). I want to have both TESIV & TESV installed on my laptop to use as references, not to mod them. TESIII modding is the only modding that I do.

NP8130
i7-2860QM, (8MB L3 cache)
GTX 560M 1,536MB
8GB - DDR3 1866MHz
IC Diamond Thermal Compound Coolant - CPU/GPU
80GB Intel 320 SSD
$1800 approximately

I don't plan to do any overclocking, otherwise I'd go with the 2960xm since it has the http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_i7/Intel-Core%20i7%20Mobile%20Extreme%20Edition%20i7-2960XM.html. And I'm not sure it a 560m GPU will be sufficient to play Skyrim. I do not intend to use any anti-aliasing at all. I just want to be able to work well in the TESIII Construction Set and play TESIV & TESV on medium settings. I don't care about shadows or grass or any of that fancy stuff. I will mostly be playing OB and SK(is that the abbreviation people are using?) to see what the world is like and how the quests are put together and what the interior/exterior world design looks like and what new lore is added.
Will 8MB cache be adequate to play all three TES games?
What about the 1866 MHz RAM?
Thanks guys.
