Caesar's Legion or Powder Gang?

Which one is better to be on the good side of?
Spoiler
Legion is holding some Powder captives
(not really a spoiler but I'll tag it anyway). Which should I kill? Which is better in the long run?

i would say legion as powdergangers are of no threat in my opinion and legion get tons better stuff later that they come at you with.. i am friendly with ncr and vilified powdergangers and legion. legion guys have come at me with some good weapons while powdergangers have yet to send any assassins.. they just occupy a few towns it seems

As far as I'm aware, PG don't really come into the main quest line too much. It's mostly just Legion or NCR. So the real question is would you rather be in good with the Legion or the NCR? If it's any help, the Legion has better weapons you can buy from them than the PG.

Considering that the Powder Gangers have no quests and not one of them has a unique weapon, I would side with Caesar's Legion.

Yeah, Caesar should pretty much hate you now. That was his third in command.

Son of a [censored], I hope I saved...

Would it be worth losing an hour's worth of gameplay to have the guy alive? I have a save an hour back.

Not really. Just side with the NCR instead. Later you

get pardoned by Caesar himself after you talk to House in the Lucky 38. Not immediately after, but fairly soon.

So just try to avoid them.

Everyone's expendable in the Legion and Vulpes is simply replaced if you kill him. Besides, noone liked Vulpes, at least not Lanius.

Powders are weak as hell, I am vilified by them. The Legion is a major faction though, therefore it is a strong faction.

Vulpes is not the only one with a Fox Skin Hood.

The wiki says that he gives assassination quests, I feel like those'd be fun though.

Okay, noone in the Legion likes Vulpes... well, except Caesar himself. He describes Vulpes as 'a remarkable man from an unremarkable tribe'.
