Cait is awesome....

Post » Mon Dec 14, 2015 1:41 pm

Way to go Beth for giving us superior companions overall versus the previous games. I personally think you knocked it out of the park with Cait (dialog, story, mannerisms, gun, attitude, personality...).

My only wish with this game is respawns didn't happen at all or took much longer. The game has so much breadth to it I wonder why everything I visit resets so quick. Oh well, maybe some people like it that way.

Again, thanks for the fun companions!

She is my favorite. From time to time I leave her to see the side quest of another follower and then taker her back.

I really want to like her, but I just can't as her accent is extremely poorly done. I personally find it painfully cringe worthy and awful.

I wouldn't say that,i've been around a variety of irish accents(believe me,there are a lot) and she's pretty close to some of them(I'm in the North East,Cait wouldn't sound outta place in some cities around here)

Cait is awesome. My favorite companion by far. She's also down for a threesome with Piper, so there's that ... :)

She's very pretty. It is hard to take her along because I play a good guy and she hates it whenever you help someone out so I was just kept making her madder and madder.

I don't get the accents though. Where did these british isle people come from? The ghoul voice in FO4 sounds like the same Australian Skyrim voice over actor that does the dark elves but where does that accent come from? As far as I can tell there is no air or boat service carting folks from one continent to another anymore.

Sadly in Pipers words "never gonna happen, Cait". Laughed so hard first time i heard their switch off banter.

If you strip Piper to her underwear when Cait is around you get a "Cait liked that" :D

I for one find her backstory to be completely generic and cliche. Imagine, a tough loves to fight irish woman with a bad accent that was abused as a kid and sold to slavers by her parents later on? My god. Never saw that coming. For what's it worth, she is hot.

No disrespect intended. But I am Irish born and raised lived all over Ireland all my life and can safely say her accent is not remotely similar to any of our 30 plus accents in the slightest. Her accent is compete full on stage ''Orish'' as it's called. People would think she was a foreigner mocking our accent if they heard her speak in Ireland. I appreciate what they tried to make with her character but as an Irishman the accent just kills it for me personally and I can't take her seriously because of it as much as I would like to.

Yeah, the voice is a bit odd, but Cait and the lady who voices who are both gorgeous so I'm willing to let it slide :P

An alcoholic junkie who complains about everything and has more drama in her life than the main character is awesome? Not to me.

I don't know, he just reminds me of every hippie stoner drug dealer I've ever seen in any movie or TV show. That was it.

I really like almost all of the companions in the game that I've traveled with. So far I've maxed out the affinity for Piper, Cait, Curie, Codsworth, Preston, and MacCready. I've traveled a good amount with both Nick and Paladin Danse, though I haven't maxed out their affinity yet. I haven't traveled with Deacon yet aside from the first mission that you do with him. I rescued Strong but haven't traveled with him at all yet. Aside from Preston, I really like all of them so far. Preston just annoys me. His facial expressions are totally blank and his dialog is incredibly dry. Plus I just have a grudge against him for all of the Minutemen radiant quests lol. I sent him to the Castle, ignored the last couple, failed them, and haven't talked to Preston since. I probably won't for a while.

It's a toss up for me. I really like all of the rest. Piper, Curie, Cait, and MacCready are my favorites. If I had to narrow it down, I'd have to say Piper and MacCready top the list. I've romanced Piper, Curie, and Cait, but Piper is still my 'main' romantic interest. MacCready is basically my 'best friend' kind of companion.

Cait's voice actress: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3180237/?ref_=tt_cl_t10

She's from Scotland, which is not Ireland.

Voice actors, and performers in general, do not need to be the demographic they're portraying. That's uh, that's why it's called acting. From her own statements, it doesn't sound like shes from Emerald Isle itself, unless those slavers have really great trans-atlantic transportation, so I'd be more confused if she sounded like a flawless 20th century Irish stereotype tillin potatoes for the banshees.
