Calixto's House of Curiosities Locked

Post » Fri May 25, 2012 4:42 am

I'm trying to do the Blood on the Ice quest, which is a challenge because of how buggy it is. After I find the amulet, I'm supposed to get it identified, but his place is always locked. It doesn't seem to be locked for everybody, so what is causing his place to be locked? I've waited outside of his house for an hour, over and over, and it never gets unlocked.

I never had the amulet identified? If your attempts don't work just blame the mage or grab the journals and amulet and ask the court mage if they belong to him.

I had to wait....and wait...and wait....

Keep waiting for random amounts of time and it will be unlocked. That whole town is like that with me. Everything has a Master lock as well...

Need a hint, huh?

Spoiler
He's not at the house. You should find him at the path that takes you from Candlelight Inn to the Gray Quarter. But, if you want a "happy" ending, pick the lock and search his house.

I've read that it becomes a permanent quest item that you can't remove from your inventory if you do that, and I can't just remove it using the console commands because I'm playing on the 360. The strategy guide says you can get it identified. Has nobody been able to complete the quest that way?

Alright, I managed to get inside of the building and I finished the quest right. However, one objective was never completed: Get assistance from Jorleif. Whether I blamed the court mage or not, that objective was never completed. I don't like having incomplete objectives, so is there anyway to complete that particular one?
