A Call To Issilar

Right, so I returned to Morrowind after a few years, installed texture and other replacers and beat the main quests of Morrowind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon. Along with some guild questlines and sidequests.

And now I decided to install some content/quests mods. I came across this mod named "A call to issilar" in the hall of fame of http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/.

Now I'm stuck in the part where I have to find the NPC "Old S shaara", reading the comments on the mod's page in planetelderscrolls, it appears that I'm not the only one.

So what did I do? the old method I used when I can't find a specific thing from a mod: check it using the Construction Set. I found the bloody argonian standing on a platform inside a tree ... lovely. I haven't used the CS in years and it took me a while to figure how to properly move objects around but I did it, I moved the NPC to a more convenient place, near a ramp.

Ok, now I start Morrowind, go to the place where I put the NPC and ... nothing. I couldn't find her. I thought she might have wandered around a bit so I looked but still couldn't find her. "Perhaps I put her somewhere else? but I'm sure it was near a ramp ... maybe another ramp, but there's only one .. wait, what the ..

AAAAAAAAAHH"

Ok lets try again. Opened the CS, found the NPC and moved her to a very distinguishable place, unlike any in the island. I checked her AI package to see if she wanders around but she doesn't and I built a fence around her just in case.(lol)

Run Morrowind, go to the place and ... still nothing. The fence is there but the NPC isn't.

If you are the original author or if you have played and completed this addon (or passed this part atleast) then please tell me where or how to find the NPC. For now I'll just load an earlier save game and do something else.

TL:DR : I can't find the NPC Old S shaara even after moving her to a very distinguishable place, she simply isn't there. If you know how to make her appear or fix the problem, do tell.

P.S. Whoever said that getting lost for hours in Morrowind is fun should take off his/her fake glasses that are called http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nostalgia. :P

Edit: Typos.

Just a guess, but maybe the mod has a script which forces Sshaara back to her starting position, and that's why your attempts to place her in the CS didn't work. You could try using the console in-game and get her to you with a PositionCell or PlaceAtPC command (keep in mind that the latter actually creates a new copy of her).

When I played Call to Issilar, I found her in a tree near the GreenSpire building after a long and frustrating search. However, she doesn't give you the key you need; instead, she sends you off to find a couple of other NPCs who might have it. After another long and frustrating search failed to turn up either of them, I gave up on the mod and moved on to other quests. If you should happen to find them, please post (or PM me) where they were, and maybe I'll go back.

I remember I had nearly the same problem, she was not even on the tree platform, but stuck inside the tree, probably due to some bigger tree replacer I was using.
The real problem though is not the mod, but your saved game: if you load a saved game in which you had previously met the NPC inside the tree, you will continue to find her inside the tree even if you change the original mod, because saved games changes (.ess) are loaded after the mod (.esp) and override it; that's why it is important to always debug a mod you are working on with a fresh new game before starting testing with previosly saved games.

To see the changes to the mod reflected in your gameplay, you could
a) reload an older saved game before having accessed the NPC cell (probably not a viable option as the NPC is central to the isle)
B ) surgically remove changes to the NPC from the saved game; in case you want to try this (make a backup before!) I'd try using Morrowind Enchanted Editor, it should be simple enough to use.

Thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated.

I don't know if she is reset to her original place because of a script or because of my save game, but for now, I'm hooked up with a very good and well done island mod and I don't feel like going back to this one now. I might try it again after I'm done.

Thanks again.
