Calling all SMG users!

Post » Sun Jul 18, 2010 6:58 am

When I first saw the game, I thought that I'd be going for the Carb-9 or Bulpdaun, thinking they were modeled after the MP5 and P90 respectively, but when I learnt that they weren't I felt no reason to.

The Galatic, in terms of stats, seem to be better than all the others - but then again - the UMP45 is usually always the best SMG in games, at least for the average player. I still love the looks of both the Bulpdaun and the Carb-9, but when you're holding the Bulpdaun, it just looks like a grey brick.

I will probably end up with the Galactic, but I am hoping that my play-style will complement the Tampa, because, in spite of its size, it just looks badass to the point of looking ridiculous when you add tons of attachments to it. So that's my pick at least!

So basically, the point of my post is to let all you SMG-users out there share your thoughts as to the three questions listed above and why!

Galactic and the Tampa share it for me.
But the CARB-9 looks like it will be one of the most dominant, it just looks overpowered to me (i know that sounds ridiculous)

The Carb-9 looks the best, so at this point it's what I'd go for. Who knows, though... ^_^

I love the look of the Bulpduan and Galactic!
I don't know if to use a light or medium body type with an SMG though? :unsure2:

Don't know about you guys, but I'm really curious to see how much work SD has put into making all the guns different from one another. I'm hoping that I'll feel a major difference SMGs and ARs, as well as guns of the same group.

I can't answer number 3. There's no better and worse, only for different preferences.

Kross really does it for me.
It looks like the sort of gun that can easily be used on the run, and that's pretty much why i'll be using SMGs.

Quick question:

Does anybody, anybody at all, have the full list of weapons that will be appearing in Brink w/ pictures?

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1173072-brink-weapon-derivitives/ is the closest thing (with pictures) available right now i think.

It's also a complete list. We know there are 24 + 2 (Pre Order) weapons in the game.

when you're holding the Bulpdaun, it just looks like a grey brick.

I actually like that. Makes it feel like a complete bada$$ weapon!

If you go medium, you can carry both at the same time! ;)

The Bulp seems really unpopular based on this. It'd be sorta funny if it turned out to be the one that most players choose in the end. :P

What about the Spec Ops pre-order bonus, the Hockler Machine Pistol? Looks like an SMG to me, like the MP7.

Apparently it's a Sidearm, like the Ceasar Revolver.

Then it's quite a hefty side arm. Phew!

Super high ROF, super low damage, super less-than-average accuracy, I guess.

So only really viable in CQC.

My vote was for the http://www.fragworld.org/frag/images/stories/jreviews/_GalacticSMG_1302295048.png with the http://www.fragworld.org/frag/images/stories/jreviews/673_TAMPASMG1_1302231470.png being a close second for my secondary. Would have voted for the Hockler if it was in the poll.

I've been wanting the fallout pre-order but here lately I've been really looking at the http://www.fragworld.org/frag/images/stories/jreviews/_HocklerMachinePistol_1302290536.png, guess I need to hurry up and make up my mind with which pre-order to go with

I really don't like the Bulpdaun because the magazin goes behind the trigger. I really don't like that. It seems like it would be awkward in every situation.

I'm really only interested in the SMGs mate, the Hockler is a sidearm. :P
