CALLING BETHESDA - Latest patch problems & AMD processor

Post » Fri Mar 11, 2016 6:27 pm

CALLING BETHESDA: Since the last patch, like many others my game has become unplayable; CTD in specific areas, random CTDs, mods gone doolalee, weird textures and colours etc etc etc.

Instead of playing I have spent the last few days scouring the forums, trying all the suggestions, and the only one that worked (for all of ten minutes) was uninstall and reinstall, which I've done 3 times now with the same outcome.

I have seen some comments saying it is players with AMD GPUs that are affected.

1. Is that the case (I don't want to get a new PC with Intel Processor if it's not the problem)

2. Are Beth working on it and is there an ETA on a patch to fix it?

BETHESDA, I love F4, loved F3 and NV, Dishonored, Morrowind, Skyrim, ESO, Rage ..... well, you get the idea, I'm a big Beth fan. And I know bugs are part of it for games like Fallout because they are so BIG and it's an ongoing process to refine, improve and fix them.

But this is the first time I've been in a broken game situation like this, with an unplayable game. It's horrible. I have hundreds of hours invested in Fallout 4 - and I want to PLAY IT!!!

DLC will be nice (I pre-ordered my Season Pass), but no use to me and the countless others with a broken game. So I'm just looking for some reassurance that you are "on the case" ...... please!

If you mean AMD GPUs, there are some problems with some AMD series GPUs.

However i don't know if it's game or driver related, so i can't say anything for sure!

I do not know if Bethesda is working on it, but normally that should be the case.

Also on a different topic a guy mentioned that the latest AMD drivers causing his computer to crash. (Crimson 16.3 drivers)

So, it seems there is a lot of work to be done on both sites!

Yes I did mean GPU - put it down to stress lol. I'll edit my post.

I updated to Crimson too - hmmm, maybe a roll back?

Thanks for taking the time to reply. This is so wearing :(

I'm using an AMD GPU (R9 290 specifically w/ 4GB) and have the latest Crimson drivers installed as well. I have not seen any problems with performance at all. Nor have I had a single CTD in 150 hours of play.

I've spent some time in the last few days rolling around after the new patch too. Smooth as ever. So this isn't some kind of universal thing and I'd be more inclined to think it's got something to do with more specific configurations.

Okay, thanks. I will continue to grasp at straws then :

Okay thanks. Not my AMD GPU then.

Wouldn't know where to begin regarding configurations.
