Calling it a Day

Post » Tue Jan 14, 2014 2:19 pm

Of course Skyrim I think Is one of those games that can simply consume time! and before you know it three hours have gone by and it's now 2014 outside!

So how do you guy's call it a day? When do you feel like you've played enough Elder Scrolls for one session, is there such a thing?

I've just spent the past two hours in the land of Skyrim and I really should stop, but I feel like I could go on forever! I can't think of any other game that inspires such a response from me.

So how do you guy's call it a day? Do you have any rituals you need to perform before you can walk away?

Cheers Guys

So you play without making any save, and when you feel it's time to save, that's it for today? Wow, risky habit. No way I can do that. Can always count on CTD to come out from under a rock somewhere.

If I have the house all to myself and am able to sit down and play for as long as I want it can usually last for 4-5 hours, but I take a short break every hour or so to go to the bathroom or stretch my legs.

Same here. I save every few minutes and after every fight. My rig is pretty stable but I don't want to have to repeat something just because I didn't save.

I mass spawn http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/576740413786562600/E8E4393DDEC0B0A580A883A4E386244FD5580FD9/ smack-dead in the middle of a city or settlement to duke it out for the lolz when I'm done for the day.

Sometimes I spawn frenzied unbounbd Dremora instead. Or do a mix and match.

And yes... there have been one-too-many times where I have gotten carried away and spent hours repeatedly loading and repeating the frenzy... I've had a few late days to work because of it...

I swear it never gets old till this firggin day.

Usually I goto my house, after doing a bunch of quests, unload all my ingredients, ores, gems, books & keys in my house....make some potions for my next play, enchant my loots, sell what I can to my wife, and get her to hand over the profits from her business, then save a final time, so that next time I log in to the game, I just need to run to whiterun to sell off the remainder of my loot, and start playing again :)

I sacrifice a goat IRL, then chant quotes from to "kill a mocking bird" backwards.

I usually play in the evening, so it really comes down to when I'm sleepy enough to go to bed. I do try to find a stopping point. If I have a home, I try to end my session there, after putting away my stuff, sorting out the stuff I want to take on the next trip to market, and so on. I don't like to stop in the middle of a quest.

Me too. I'll save after I do anything significant, even if it's just sorting my inventory. I'll also save every few minutes regardless of what I'm doing. No way do I go through a whole play session before I save the game.

If I'm going to stop playing while in a city, I do everything I need in said city (like depositing loot at home, shopping, crafting) and then save looking at the exit gate, so I know I'm ready to leave when I load.

If I'm going to stop playing on the road I just save, making sure there are no hostiles in the vicinity.

I usually don't stop playing in a dungeon, I just have to finish them and save as I quit the place.

I also play in the evening, that's when I have the most free time, I tend to leave my characters next to a bed, switch to 3rd person, move the camera so it faces them, then save.

I'll usually check my inventory stocks, see what quest i want to start next time (if i'm not already on one at the time that is) & ensure my character is in a safe place, before i save & quit.

When I feel it's a good moment to stop during my roleplaying. It's usually after my character has had an unusually eventful day and finally gets some rest. He reads a book, sleeps about 8 hours, save, quit. Next time I load the game is like truly waking up for a new day.

I usually save in villages or cities after a quest or objective, but not before I have sold most of the things I needed to get rid off. I make a mental note of my next quest/objective before saving and select it with my journal. Sometimes I start the journey and just save before entering the cave/ruin/fort.

M'aiq usually sets up camp, spending the rest of the night searching for calipers, then going to bed.

My wife comes into the room and says she's going to bed.I say "how about 30 minutes to wind down".She often says OK....we each get a glass of wine and we talk for the 30 minutes....then go to bed.

I'm always first up...to begin the day.
