The word Camonna - what does it mean?
I know I've read it somewhere, but I can't find it.

Anyone?

I'm not an expert, but Chinese (and Vietnamese?) triad groups are called tongs and have a bit of history to them.

The Camonna part? It could be based on the Camorra, an Italian mafia organisation around Naples.

Both the Italian and the Chinese organisations supposedly have centuries of history regarding their supposed patriotism (The Comorra may have been always purely criminal though).

What i didn't get into in my above reply is that both the Italian mafia and the Chinese tongs have historically been notoriously xenophobic and have hid their crimes under a blanket of patriotism. And looking at the Camonna Tong in MW, doesn't that description fit?

In the game, "Tong" means "guild."

As for Tongs in real life, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tong_(organization). Short version: secret societies founded by Chinese immigrants in America, starting in the 1800's.

Not sure what Camonna means... can't find it in TIL's translation dictionary. I thought it meant "common" but I might be confusing this with something else.

They say "we're just a society of businessmen".
Could Camonna be tradesman or merchant?

 Maybe, but that's far from the sort of guild they are now!

If that were the meaning, it could be similar to the nomenclature of the Know-Nothings in 19th century New York

Which is the oldest way to say "Hey, we're just a bunch of businessmen trying to make a living" mafia style.

Well, at least they're not in the renovation-business, right? :P

But Camonna doesn't seem like a dunmerish name, neither for a region or a family.
So with Morag Tong being the Forester's Guild, what would the Camonna Tong be?

Cammona, they are like an Italian Mafia and what do Italians in the mafia say? Hey-a come on-a! That is the best I can come up with but it isn't much worse than any other's speculation.
