Camp Forlorn Hope...

Post » Mon May 17, 2010 7:36 am

What's going on?? I need to go back to Forlorn to finish the Med Mystery quest and everytime I teleport to Camp Forlorn Hope I walk a few steps and BAM! freezes..it was always kinda spazzy, same with Primm, but now it just locks up. I figured it was the fast walking so I went to the BoS bunker and jogged from there but same thing, got to the middle of the camp-BAM! froze again.Any ideas people? Wear a hat? Click my heels together 3 times?Sing a jaunty tune? Maybe I'll sing JINGLE JANGLE... all ideas welcome...

I was have a problem very similar to that when entering Camp Mcarran recently when I was there I noticed the lag leading to a freeze starting to occur so I stopped only to see the NCR open up on ED-E. Once he had been knocked unconscious and the troops walked away he popped back up and things have worked just fine their ever since. Not really sure why they would attack him like, maybe something to do with him getting an upgrade from some place I won't mention from a faction not in the NCR good books.

If it was me, I would also try these things: Delete cache under PS3 internet browser > Tools > Delete cache and then load the game. I delete cache pretty often.

I have all animations turned off so things are bare-boned.

I would try getting to the outskirts and making a new save and then venturing in...saving all along while it was safe...on a new save each time. You can cover them later.

That's all I can think of at the moment except maybe trying 1st person and 3rd POV...anything to change things up.
Companions, no companions, etc.

Good luck!

I had this exact same problem. I'm not sure when I deleted the cache, but I did that and I don't think it helped. Due to the freezes, I stayed away from Camp Forlorn Hope until near the end, when I completed (or failed) all of my possible side-quests, and when I was almost finished with the game (i.e. when I was deciding whether to side with XXX or XXX against XXX [spoilers omitted]).

So I know this is frustrating and stupid, but you might try avoiding the Camp like I did, until the very, very end...? Worked for me. The game still hitched and hiccuped when I was there, but it didn't crash (as much!).

Hope this helps.

I had this twice, once approaching bitter springs during the boomers quest and now with forlorn hope. I managed to get around the bitter springs problem by changing to another quest, completing it (so there are currently no quests selected) and then going back. It worked after that for some reason sp sopefully it will work again for forlorn hope.

Mmm, too bad, I had no issues at all with Camp Forlorn Hope. Managed to complete the Ranger Station Missions just fine. Never heard of deleting PS3 Browser Cache. Not sure why that would work to be honest.
