Campaign For Leafy the Dragon (Bethesda show us that you car

Post » Wed May 18, 2011 4:46 am

I'm torn between thinking the OP is going to far or if most of the people who respond completely missed the point. The point is we want some way of knowing the devs are listening. It can just be another Fishy Stick EE. Just some way to know they still pay attention to us besides the GI Hub, the Todd Howard "Answer Fan Questions" podcast, the couple different Twitter accounts where you can ask Pete or other devs questions...

Huh, maybe they do listen.

i think bethesda has done a lot of listening to the fans. i mean todd howard posted an audio blog saying that he read a lot of the bethesda forums. its time they start moving on with the game.

I don`t care about finding some proof that Bethesda might or might not be listening to us..you will know anyway when you play the released game, leafy or not  . I thought the game was almost completed anyway?

I wouldn't mind if Leafy was a dragon in a ridiculous story book in Skyrim. But I really don't think that Beth needs to put it in the game to show that they are listening. I think that most everything that Beth has done diffrently from Oblivion to Skyrim is proof enough they listened to us.

No, now if they added a small rare flora somewhere in the game named "Leafy Dragon" id be surprised.

I don't need anything so ridiculous as this to prove to me that Bethesda is listening.

Look at the game. Just from what we know so far it's pretty obvious that Skyrim will contain an unprecedented amount of user made mod idea's.

Skyrim is positively teeming with Oblivion mods. Proof positive they are listening.

Although, if you really want to prove it Bethesda, put in a hardcoe/survival mode. Go on... pleeease!

The Name Leafy doesn't sound cool enough we need something different like Razor or something else that's Dragon like. A name that sounds cool but wouldn't make that particular Dragon bigger then Alduin.

I do want Bethesda to listen to us, but I don't want a dragon called Leafy. IMO, it is ridiculous and immersion breaking, having an almighty dragon named Leafy, especially since they have a Dragon Language anyway.

Lea'fi te Dovah?

Does that sound better? ;)

Well the fact that killmoms is in this thread at least shows this suggestion is crossing a devs mind. Doubtful it will be implemented though.

We can't call it Leafy it will never be taken seriously. We need something from Conan that will get Todd's attention.

Yes it would be amusing for it to happen subtly. I.E. a leafy the dragon named so in the dragon language. For people nagging about..... you guys should really pull those boards out of your asses

Actually, if Bethesda listened to this, and put in a green dragon named Leafy, rather than all the other stuff that really should be in the game, I would dislike them more, and only feel like their priorities are not where they should be.

Leafy is an almighty dragon that lives high in peaks of Skyrim. He would fly down from the mountains ever so often and terrorize the towns...until one day Dovahkiin confronted him, and asked him his name. He hesitated, but by the Dovahkiin's sheer will the Dragon was forced to speak it's name. From that day onward, Leafy was never seen again and it is said that he is laughed at by both Dragons and mere mortal humanoids alike.

Actually, since children are in Skyrim, perhaps Leafy could be some kind of fairy tale.

And I agree. I just can't see myself taking a dragon named "Leafy" seriously, if Bethesda wants to show us that they listen to us, there are better ways to do so. Like using some of the good ideas fans have presented that could really benefit the game.

Besides, just because Bethesda doesn't add everything we ask for doesn't mean they don't take our ideas or suggestions into account, this also means that Bethesda doesn't need to try to prove they do by adding things just because we suggest them, and it certainly means that we shouldn't assume that Bethesda is ignoring us just because not every single thing we asked for is in the game. Bethesda also needs to consider whether the idea is actually feasible, whether it fits in with the direction they plan on taking the game in, and whether it would actually sit well with the majority of players.

Good post, we do listen to fans and their ideas. We cant always implement them all though. Fans complained about level scaling in oblivion and we changed it. We are obviously trying to make a game that is enjoyable for as many as possible, but you cant please everyone no matter how hard you try and that goes for anything. This poll is a good example, putting in a dragon called leafy would please some (probably very few  ) and bother alot of other people. Every one has their reasons for liking or disliking something and everyone is different. Actually Ive read alot of posts where most are excited about having dragons period, and Ive also read a small few who hate the idea of dragons. My point is you guys can rest assured that we do care about all of our fans and what they think even if we don't respond to every single thing.

Thanks for taking time to reply Vsions. I`m sure we all appreciate it. The majority of us fans appreciate the time and energy spent on this game over the years. We are just dying for new info and screens ;)
