Campaign For Leafy the Dragon (Bethesda show us that you car

Post » Wed May 18, 2011 10:36 am

Just to say thanks to Vsionsfor taking the time to look at the post. I think my title misled a few people maybe should have changed it. The thread was intended to show those people who didn't think Bethesda listened that actually they do (hence the quote in the OP). I think in the end it came across as though I was challenging Bethesda rather than what I felt were other peoples misconception that Bethesda wouldn't pay attention to what fans wanted. Anyways thanks for taking the time to comment! Keep up the good work!

I do want Bethesda to listen to us, but I don't want a dragon called Leafy. IMO, it is ridiculous and immersion breaking, having an almighty dragon named Leafy, especially since they have a Dragon Language anyway.

Oh yeah and the Udyrfrykt was so not odd.... The thing is that Leafy can be an easter egg, could be the dragon in the whole Grendel, Grendel's mother and the Dragon. Occasional funny Easter Eggs are good for a game. I mean, look at M'aiq and how many people like him and he is utterly ridiculous but not immersion breaking. A dragon named Leafy won't break my immersion and I don't see how it would break anyones >.> Now that said, I'd rather not have a dragon named Leafy but you get my point lol.

I support Leafy the Dragon, as an Elder Scrolls fan and as a fan of Dragons in general.

GO LEAFY!

Ok I kind of got this idea from another post, but the idea comes from this post

I want to show that Bethesda are listening and I don't think this would be to hard to include in Skyrim or to ridiculous and immersion breaking. So vote for leafy and we'll see if Beth are listening in 11.11.11

Please feel free to post comments on what you think of the idea, or other ideas for Easter eggs anything to keep the thread near the top and get as many votes in as possible.

hi rivers, i vote "yes", this can turn an epic way to chck if they are listening

Haha, if it's subtle, I would love it. :D

If Leafy's in, Bethesda have my promise to pre-order TES VI even if it's given the undertitle "The ultimate level-scaled experience!" :teehee:

Good post, we do listen to fans and their ideas. We cant always implement them all though. Fans complained about level scaling in oblivion and we changed it. We are obviously trying to make a game that is enjoyable for as many as possible, but you cant please everyone no matter how hard you try and that goes for anything. This poll is a good example, putting in a dragon called leafy would please some (probably very few  ) and bother alot of other people. Every one has their reasons for liking or disliking something and everyone is different. Actually Ive read alot of posts where most are excited about having dragons period, and Ive also read a small few who hate the idea of dragons. My point is you guys can rest assured that we do care about all of our fans and what they think even if we don't respond to every single thing.

well this is interesting... mmm who are you?

All I require as proof that they care is for the game to be stable and for it to address most of the issues Oblivion had.

This thread is hilarious Rivers :)

I have to agree that a giant dragon named leafy would be a immersion killer...

but beautiful as a community easter egg... for a taverns name or as a reference in a children's book.

We can't call it Leafy it will never be taken seriously. We need something from Conan that will get Todd's attention.

What do you mean like a Conan easter egg? I guess something related to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PQ6335puOc&feature=related would be the obvious choice, also somebody on another thread suggested finding a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlBcDnRzmM0.

But I think people are missing the point or taking this thread too seriously. It is not that Leafy is a particular funny or clever name for a dragon (not that it really has to be, just look at Blasto the Jelly), the joke is more the irony that the troll who said "Bethesda will never listen to our ideas" has his idea made into the game.

Was the giant mudcrab an immersion killer? How would leafy the dragon be any different?

This was exactly the point of thread! I don't think I explained it perfectly in my OP!

The giant mudcrab was a dud for me only because of how easy it went down... but then it was only a mudcrab.

Actually, now that I have had more time to think on it, I don't have any problems with Leafy. Through the years of roleplaying... I have believed in things much sillier than a giant green dragon named Leafy. I guess it would all depend on how, where, when, and why he/she was introduced... presentation is what makes a world of difference to me really.

But then, I'm pretty happy-go-lucky... and I'm a believer.

I am SirQuestinghood and I fully endorse Leafy the giant green dragon.

Dont be so stupid. Why would Bethesda name a dragon leafy just to show they are listening. You seem hungry for attention from an authority figure... bad childhood?

This isn't a very coherent easter egg. If it was with reference to Oblivion or Morrowind or something, sure; but if you're just going to make an easter egg that relates to an insignificant forum post, I'm no fan.

Yes, and I think it s very mean of you to bring it up!

Edit: added emoticon to show above was a joke! I re-read and realised it may not come across that way!
