Many people have expressed concern in regards to camping, and how it will impact this game, I just thought I'd voice my opinion. Most people have played Call of Duty: Something or Another and experienced a camper who no matter where it seems you run he can snipe you and you don't stand a chance. There are 3 main reasons why I feel Brink won't be effected by this, point one being there are no high damage long range weapons in Brink aside from explosives. You cannot just sit in a corner with your sniper rifle in Brink because there is no sniper rifle. My next point ties into my first, when you camp in a corner with any weapon, do you know what isn't being accomplished? The objective. And you need to complete the objectives to win in Brink. My third and final point is that in most games you have maybe 2 or three possible locations. Standing on the ground, Lying on the ground, or camping in a hiding spot. Now you must realize that, thanks to Brink, if you are being killed by a guy sitting with his back to a wall, you can always just run around, jump up on top of that same wall, then shoot him in the head from above. There aren't just a linear amount of approaches, there are a ton. So that's my opinion on camping and why it won't effect Brink very much at all.

TL;DR: No snipers, Necessary objectives, and SMART make camping near impossible IMO.

It's also fast paced gameplay you probably wont have time to get to a spot aim and line up the most effective shot or close to it (ie. a headshot)

I'll still have a scoped bolt action rifle with plenty of spare ammo and a tent ready, but it won't be as useful as in games like COD. Although I've rarely had problems in COD with campers.

What maniac would camp when he can parkour?

Camping is useless because kills are not a piority compared to the objective(s) and even if somone gets a good camping spot you could probably jump around or above the area anf take him out.

Exactly! That is why i wont be camping ill be bouncing off walls and s*** lol its still kinda disapointing how there wont be sipers though :/ theres always that certain feel of accomplishment when you out smart a camping sniper

Oh don't worry a nub will probably camp so there will always be that accomplishment, but then that nub will turn into a rager so you might want to do something about that lol

They have also eliminated spawn camping. Because of indestructible sentries and 3 seconds (or so) of invincibility when you spawn.

Also being rewarded with very very little experience when away from obj.

You use SMART to get to the really tricky places to provide cover fire.




Its called area denial.

I'm not sure people realize that team on defense are essentially "camping" for area control rather than "tiny little corner control."

brink will most definitely svck, in fact it will be the worst game ever!! to CoD players, its just like bad company 2, people who cant use teamwork, always hate these games that actually take skill, and you cant just go lone wolf.

Camping to protect objectives will have it's place.

In response to the argument that, since one team is defending an objective, camping will be vital: I think there's a meaningful difference between "camping" and "defense". Camping is a type of defense where your position and tactics are static, and that means it's a weak defense: once you kill the same guy the same way a couple of times, you have communicated to him how to beat you.
