I pushed the tilde key countless times and even tried to push every button on my keyboard but I just can't open it. Any suggestions? D:

Try the apostrophe key, the one with @ on it.

There is a bug that is affecting some of us where the key for the console what ever it is in your country for North America it's the ~ key next to the 1 key in the numbers keys row on the left end.

In my case it worked perfectly on Tuesday did not work most of Wednesday worked for about an hour late Wednesday and has not worked since. I have taken to hitting the key after every fight just in case it started working again....I have alt tab out to be sure the key was working and to quit any other processes in the computer but so far nothing has worked... My bet is a tsr process that is interfering and when that TSR (the modern version of the old dos terminate and stay resident background processes) and if that proceeds quits or crashes the console key works again. I wish there was a way to send this idea to the programmers to see if they can help me find the offending one if I am right

Just In case it was a bad keyboard I tried 3 other keyboards all of them show proper response to the key in other programs so it's not the keyboard... Judging by the number of folks reading this thread this a bug that is affecting very few of us and so do not expect to se it fixed soon.

I had a pm to try a few other keys it looks like the key that brings up the console can change depending on where you are... right now for north america english key board it its not the `or ~ that worked on Tuesday and a bit on Wed. but the' key that is working at the moment.

Press Shift+Alt to toggle keyboard layout then try pressing the upper left key on your keyboard again.

thats it! thanks so much i must hit that combo when in some fights by accident i never even thought of that! a very large /facepalm

If you're using the UK key layout I'm not sure what the solution for this is, possibly the ~ key next to the enter button?
