Can Any of these computers run Oblivion on max?

My answer to you would be no.

You have to have a rig like mine just to be stable at 60fps.

and i have 4gigs of ram ,,,,,,a c2d

and a 280 gfxcard

all on a giga m/board

Well, not everyone needs 60fps all the time in this game. I certainly have gotten by with 30fps in the past. My 1GB Radeon 4870 maxes this game out at 1920x1080 resolution with 4xAA 16xAF and HDR. It's the extensive modding with those high res texture packs, better cities, all viewable in distance, etc type player mods that continue to make maxing the game out difficult. But for vanilla Oblivion, those systems that I specced out will totally do it easily.

Perhaps you're responding to something else again? I dunno anymore, I'm lost.

This system here:

already comes with a Radeon 5770. Why would you need a next step down card? The Radeon 5670 is a decent mid-range card...capable of maxing vanilla Oblivion.

Bottom right of each post here is Reply button. If you click it, that post is automatically quoted already.

And you can run HDR+AA simultaneously with pretty much all modern video cards now, but it's much easier with an ATI/AMD card. It's rather well documented nowadays....HDR on in game settings, AA through video card control panel. With Nvidia though, it's a continuing driver issue that makes it hit or miss. Often times, players still find AA getting dropped at some point...just gotta experiment with drivers. But it does work.

I'm sorry...your name looks familiar to me, but I do not recall the conversation I might have had with you in the past. In other words, I have no idea what your current PC is like right now.

I dug up your previous topic here:
http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1117965-building-a-pc/page__p__16434365__fromsearch__1#entry16434365

I can only assume that this is what you currently have? Post a dxdiag of your current PC in spoiler tags so we can clear this up.

Ok....and which one is that? I'm noticing in that topic that I listed out parts for you...did you end up buying all of those parts?

Or did you get a notebook/laptop?

I think it would simpler if you just posted a dxdiag of your setup.

As has been pointed out you should have no problem with vanilla oblivion with any of those systems. The question is how much mod you add. Qarl's Textures, Better Cities, and INI tweaks are a whole different ball game. My ATI HD 5750 (1GB), i7 (2.83GHz), 8GB DDR3 can do those at x4AA, 16AF, HDR without dropping below 30fps at the hardest spots, 50-60 in most places.

There is not a home computer that can truly run Oblivion on "max". One could in theory for example increase uGridsToLoad to load the entire map in full texture detail and fGrassStartFadeDistance to grass that entire map etc etc etc... ridiculous but the point is you can always crank up the demand on your system.
