Can't bring myself to pick any race apart from the Nord...

I'm actually resisting the Nord type game. I currently play as a sell sword from Hammerfell.

Hi everybody, I'm new to these forums, but I gotta say THANKS for the feedback on your character styles and archetypes...very interesting stuff. By the way I was NOT bashing Bethesda for the PR images of Dovahkiin I was only joking. Of course, the rule of; "You are what you play" apllies to everyone and thats what makes it AWESOME! P.S. I love their representation of Dragon Born thats why he looks identical to my character...haha ! Thanks again !

Because of those advertisemants I will never wear that helmet or look anything like that, and when I run into someone with that helmet and iron armor I want to kill him. :P

Imperial. Close to Nord, but no innate obligation to the Stormcloaks.

Only newbs play 'generic Nord Dragonborn #235'. Not really, but that's how I stereotypically see it.

Really, that's the equally cool story in my opinion. A Redguard sell sword. Or an "outside consultant" who gets sh*t done.

In fact, if the trailer had some blind, white eyed dualwielding Redguard in full Dragonscale, and called himself "Riddike", people would be like "Holy crap... that dude's awesome" and would be playing that instead. :D

I just choose the best looking race and in this game I believe that is redguard. Man, he's cool.

thats how the CoC was advertised.

The original dragonborn was an imperial, so...

Plus I feel out of place being a Nord solely because of the Bleak Falls Barrow quest

Spoiler
If I'm a Nord, why do I need the golden claw? Arvel's journal states that the claw is needed if you don't have Nordic blood, but if a Nord already does, then shouldn't he just be able to waltz right through without needing the claw?

My paladin was a Nord, follower of Talos and a Stormcloak.
My conjurer is a Breton, and is joining the Imperial Legion.

It's more fun playing the game with different class/race combinations, seeing the game through the eyes of different characters with their own view of things.

I just cant bring my self to make anything els but a Bosmer(wood elf). Ive had several playthroughs, I make all them the same, except slightly improve the next one.

Once I have my main playthrough perfect, I might try making a breten mage, or a nord fighter, but Ill stick to my stealthy/all around ass kicking bosmer for now.

I found it hard to pick an elf or beast race - even though I love all elven and beastkind!

But as I found out, it's all just a matter of roleplaying - just force yourself to pick another
race and just play it for while, but remember to think up an interesting backstory for your
character. It makes it that much easier to do.

For example, I have an Imperial, Tiber Aranis, who was caught trying to cross the border from Cyrodiil
because he wanted to serve the Legion in Skyrim - he is a former legionary, but recieved
a dishonourable discharge due to Talos worship. His commander found out but didn't want to report
Tiber to the Thalmor, so he made up a reason to discharge him duty.
Tiber was thankful of his commander, but found out that he wasn't cut for the quiet life, and felt that
he still had a duty to the Empire, its citizens and to Skyrim which now faced the threat of rebellion.
