So we can build bases, cool! How about some traps?

Heyah fellow vault dwellers,

So we've seen that we can build bases(which was one of my expectations before E3) and we have also seen the possibility of having turrets, which is super cool. I'd like to hear your input regarding traps and so forth. Different devices such as bear traps seen in previous games, along with mines, electric fences, pits and punji traps etc.

Wouldn't it be awesome to create a minefield, where you put up signs to warn traders but raiders who most likely cannot read, are too stupid to avoid it and off they go... arms and legs flying everywhere and you may even decorate your base with some of them in the process.

Let me know your opinions.

Cheers!

There are traps in the video.

A raider runs over some trip wire and flamethrowers start to cook the group.

Sure, a laser trap which triggers the flamethrower. But I'm talking about more conventional traps. Doesn't have to be pits, due to possible map issues that may come with it, but the others could most likely work.

Well, judging by those raiders AI you won't need any traps other then Todd showed us :

1) Put two turrets by the sides of a main road and a very bright laser tripwire in between them

2) ...

3)Loot the bodies

I'd be surprized if we didn't see bear traps as a possible base defence. I'd hope as well there will be more then just a handful of raiders charging straight at it, that they might use some form of tactics

In the base, during the raider attack, there were laser tripwires that seemed to set off the turrets and there was something that looked and acted like a foogas mortar.

Build an open maze, load it with mines, watch the pathing of the AI make them rub right through everything.

Did somebody say landmines? Because it would be a shame if they were placed all over the map where all the NPCs sleep
