Can't buy Expert spells from College Winterhold

Post » Mon May 21, 2012 3:53 am

I am at level 34, 9 mgs and about 70 hrs of gameplay in. I started the College of Winterhold main quest. The orb is at the college now and I am tasked with going to the "Labyrinthian" and find the staff of magnus. Upon entering I noticed a dragon and tons of skeletons that messed my up pretty bad. I decided to leave after being killed a few times to acquire some "Expert" level destruction spells to enhance my chances when I go back. Here is the problem:

Now that the College of Winterhold feels under threat, no one is willing to sell anything (i.e. Faralda) at the college and thus I have no way of upgrading my spells. This svckS!

Have any of you experienced this? If so, any advice? Or do any of you know of another way in which to acquire these Expert Destruction spells?

Take a look at this http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Spells

All available spells, where to buy them, what skill level you have to be, etc.

There are a lot that can only be purchased from the college but maybe some of the others will help

Nevermind. Didn't read through it all. Looks like the only way other than the college is to find them randomly.

Looks like you just need to grind your way through Labyrinthian. You can always turn the difficulty down if there's no other way

Any of the spellcasters at the various holds and Calcimo in Markath has expert level spells for sale, I think. If you can make a ammy to increase your haggling then do that, will make it alot cheaper.

Don't feel bad,I have lost Faralda to the Planes of Oblivion and I will never see her again, she's just...gone. So I will never know the Master Destruction spells. And the cheapest way to get past the skellies and the Skull Dragon in the Labrynthian is to snipe with a bow from a distance because the bow is SO overpowered in Skyrim.
