Hi everyone, I currently play FNV through 360 but watching all the mod reviews on Alchestbreach's page has given me a twitch to run this on my PC. I'm not the most PC savvy when it comes to hardware so forgive me if my questions are rather daft. I currently have a Lenovo B575-1450 laptop. Relevant specs are

6GB RAM
1.6 GHz E-Series Dual Core E-350-This will need to be upgraded to a 2 GHz one. Can this be easily/cheaply done?
OS is Windows 7 64 Bit
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 6310. Is this adequate? If not how much would it cost me?

As you can tell, budget is an issue, I don't feel like spending vast amounts of money if it can be avoided. Your help is very appreciated

Netbooks/Notebooks/Laptops all are designed as disposable appliances that rapidly fall behind the tech curve, if they are even close to the current average, which the one you asked about was not. They cannot be (casually) upgraded for either the CPU or the GPU being so weak as yours is (in your case, I'm quite sure that you have an APU that combines the GPU functions into the CPU). Quite often, there is no SOCKET at all. The CPU is often permanently soldered to the board.

Make a point of ignoring the comment immediately following mine. His suggestion has no merit. I've been building PCs for 20 years; I've put together hundreds (between 150-200, just for family and friends, probably more), and I have played many hundreds of games on them. It is my opinion he has never built even a pair.

I have a dell vostro laptop and it runs fine for me... I'd get it if you want mods. You can't run it on Ultra High quality, but it'll work.

I'm with Gorath on this one. Lenovo laptops are far from gaming quality. Their current Y-series might run FONV (big maybe), but your B-series is general purpose, at best.

It is possible to upgrade the CPU, but I've been building PCs for almost as long as Gorath and would only consider doing it with a maintenance manual at hand and a gun to my head. Laptop innards are only intended to be accessed by qualified techs. Put something back fractionally out of place and you can fry the whole thing. The only things in laptops that can be user upgraded are adding more RAM, maybe changing the optical drive (Lenovo's are usually modular) and the HDD (but only if you're a glutton for punishment). If you want to play FONV on PC, get a desktop rig that exceeds the specs. It might be pricey in the here-and-now, but it will be upgradable when you need/want.
