Anyone else having problems with the buttons that are supposed to equip/store/read etc when you are in a inventory/opening a chest?

They never worked for me from day one but it had'nt been a problem until now with a quest i cannot complete where i need to leave a bag of supplies in a chest at high hrothgar i can highlight the supplies and down the bottom it has E for equip and R for store but pressing R does nothing until and mousing over the 'store' to store the supplies in the chest does nothing either.

I can't change the binds for these keys as there is no option for them in the controls section of game and obviously np's with my keyboard , any1 having any ideas or this a known bug?
