Can't enjoy game for crazy fov

Post » Mon Mar 11, 2013 10:33 pm

The game doesn't feel right for me at all.

It's almost like looking at a photograph at the end of your nose, and from being an experienced gamer, I'm struggling to play the game for longer than a few minutes without becoming irritated.

I've tried changing the fov settings, but they appear to be limited to 80, and as a result, I'm finding it very difficult to navigate the game like a gamer should, and that's a shame.

All this tweaking lark reminds me of the days of the original Farcry, when players spent more time playing around with their cfg's than they did play.

It's ridiculous in 2013.

I should be able to play perfectly from the off, with just a few tweaks from the ingame settings.

My pc is high end, and my screen is 27 inches, so I should be getting a lot of pleasure from the game, which looks like it is really nice.

There were similar problems with Farcry 3, with this silly blur and fov, but turning off fx and adjusting the fov sorted that, but there are no such options here.

Nor do I have options for surround sound that I can tell.

What's with the jump lag also? Press jump, and a half second later, the player jumps?

Perhaps somebody else has had similar issues, and found a fix that they could share please ? I'm starting to have concerns about my eyesight.

No such problems with Blackops etc, and with around 100 games in my Steam account, no real issues there either.

Much obliged.
