can't equip shovel? wtf : V

Hi guys, I'm absolutely confused. Why can't I equip a shovel? It just says cannot equip this item.

Because its not a weapon.

ah okay tnx. umm that of course raises the point, am I able to dig because I have a spot I think treasure is buried in.

It should be a weapon though, you can now use torches as weapons I would have thought Bethesda would have extended that to things like pick axes, shovels etc

They are useable as tools though (I know pickaxe, woodcutters axe are, not sure about shovel)

That's what I want to know. I found a treasure map and its going to take me forever to find it, but I'm not sure if we are going to have to dig for it or not.

if u can't use it the it's for digging. I have a shovel but haven't found anywhere to dig . but I assume that's what it's meant for

I've found a couple treasures from treasure maps. I never needed to dig for them.
