I haven't played that much during this new patch, but all I know is that they halved the Versus Campaign Player count in two :/

It is still 8v8, only there can't be more than 4 human players on each team

Anyways.. Nice that they are quick with this stuff

Yeah but that's just temporary till they fixed the real lag issue,so i don't understand why so much people are complaining about that.

That won't stay forever like that.

That we don't know, Sirius :/

For all we know it might aswell be their permanent solution to reduce the lagg online, even though it is still there sometimes - but I so sure hope it is temporary :vaultboy:

"Big Teams" mode is basically just the normal play from before the patch. if you want to use that, do so. Not too hard.

I'm hoping they try to find a lag fix instead of just leaving things the way they are right now though. Would be a shame to be limited like this permanently.

I can't really tell the difference between update and old game besides things that actually are getting worse. I don't know if it's because of my rank increase or what. Is there going to be certified patch on Xbox 360?

When you buy new game, you buy it with the intentions of playing it and being engrossed in it. Not waiting 3-4 weeks for a dev to go "oh wait... hold on let us fix it up". I honesty don't think how anybody can think that's fair, and that people are unreasonable for feeling that way. The problems are game breaking for a lot of people on console. You can tell that Splash Damage knows they effed up because they're trying to save face by giving away free DLC.

Just don't get why there are people who judge people who complain about things they have the right to complain about. Obviously your copy of the game is magically okay. =o\

The "patch" that just came out was made for the weekend.

Hopefully next week the FULL patch comes out and fixes all this nonsense.

Dont get me wrong. I actually am starting to like this game and I plan to play it on my upcoming time off. It's just that in a world where games such as COD, Battlefield, etc have better graphics, online connection, and smooth movement, it baffles me how that games that come out don't even match these standards in some form. The bar has been raised and it seems that some companies seem to still lag behind. Every game has at least a few small issues, but I think the time for hazy, clunky, blurry gameplay is done. Step up Brink and we will all gladly support your products. The graphics, for instance, remind me of Street Fighter meets Counterstrike. Not bad but certainly not worthy of comparison to the games that we have recently experienced in this era.

CoD and Battlefield are both on patch 1.5....

Brink has been out 4 days. Give them time and by 1.5 I bet this game will run smooth as butter too. ;)

Every game goes through this, it's just a fact of life in the software world. There are so many edge cases that not everything can be caught up front. The devs are doing a great job to address the issues and keeping us informed in the process.

Don't get me wrong, I get frustrated at the lag some times and the lack of a lobby system for parties. It's extremely difficult to get into a Freeplay game with my buds but not impossible. But SD knows of these things so hopefully we will see something in the future. For people experiencing lag you can look around the forums and see threads pointing out that playing Competitive or Old Skool modes are working really well. Great temporary solution for the lag and having to play with bots. I have been playing these for a few days now, lag free, and have been enjoying every minute.

I hope your right. I know it will be a better game and I do like it already. It just seems that the starting point for the other games is higher than this is. Seems a much steeper hill to climb to be at the standard FPS level. Time will tell.

One's perspective is according to their own experience. And not everyone is having problems with this game either. But if you are one of the unfortunate ones, it seems everyone is having problems.

Takes me back to HL:2. I was one who had a horrible time getting that game going smoothly. I thought everyone was having that problem because I went to their forums and it was full of complaints. Later I realized it was a much smaller number of folks having problems and most were having a blast with the game. A few weeks and few patches later everyone was happy. So for me it was steep for others a walk in the park.

That seems to be the problem, developers think they have it all covered and then they release and so many more folks in different places playing under a bit different circumstances and on different TV's, hardware, server connections....whatever...and it's like mass testing. Almost every time something is going to pop up.

Like these patch notes from yesterday for PC:
G
eneral:
Fixed issues with custom ui_fov settings when playing as a client
Added support for 2560x1440
Slightly improved start up times
Fixed crash when clicking in blank area on Training Videos menu
Fixed memory leaks on shutdown
Fixed Be More Objective leaderboards being incorrectly named

Graphics:
Fixed “texture gridding” issues on certain graphics cards
Fixed settings being incorrectly applied on the advanced video options screen
Improved performance when using Ambient Occlusion
Fixed halos not rendering correctly

AI Bots:
Removed bot intelligence inhibitors for Freeplay games
Adjusted bot behaviour in Campaign games to make teams more evenly matched
Changed bots’ objective priorities across all game modes
Fixed issue with bot difficulty continually dropping

User Interface:
Fixed poor server browser performance for users with a large number of items in their history
Made server browser refreshes much more responsive
Changed server browser to no longer group player counts by max players
Added new pop-up text for server browser filters
Fixed not being able to sort by favourites column
Server browser now retrieves favourites correctly from Steam
Fixed arrow keys not working when exiting out of a chat submenu
Made it easier to select a default secondary weapon
Disabled chat options in solo mode

Dedicated Servers:
Can now use net_ip command to assign IPs to server instances
Dedicated server binary can now be run as a service, which won't have a CSIDL_PERSONAL virtual folder

Like that "Added support for 2560x1440", can you imagine how many that might have effected and such a small oversight.
