ok I have an ATI Radeon 5730 HD video card. Which most of you PC gamers know is a step down from the highest series of video cards offered by ATI for Notebooks. My concern is probably stupid, but just out of sheer curiousty Im wondering if i can run Fallout new Vegas. Because I was looking at the System requirements for the game and it listed supported video cards, and my series wasn't on there. But my video card is higher than all the series listed. Does that mean I can still run it?? or can Fallout only run supported video cards?? Heres the info...

To a point, most cards/drivers/ & directX are backwards compatible. An application asks for what it needs and can make use of.

One advantage of a really good card is that the drivers may allow you to improve the appearance of the game beyond what it ever was.

Sweet, glad to know it is backwards compatible. This is great, now I can put the resolution way up. Does this mean i will be able to make it higher than 1600x900??

No... What I do with some of my games is set the graphics drivers to increase the antialiasing beyond what the game itself can do. Options in the drivers will vary.

if the monitor can handle that, yes but like Gizmo suggested up the AA first
