I can't find this dang dog, and I need him for a quest.

Yes, I've checked all the dog houses, even got rid of them. He's not in Sanctuary. Checked Rocket yard, and even other places I own. He's gone.

What the heck should I do?

Try the last place you gave him a command or traded...I've hit the stay button on accident more than one.

I wish it was as simple as whistling.

Actually, I did that. I picked up Strong at the tower and sent him on his way... I'll check again I suppose

Srsly just check the last place you and him were at and then trace back potential routes.

happen to me one time, he was on one of the multiple dog house on Sanctuary after that i remove all the other dog house.

I got rid of all the extra dog houses and slept for 24 hours in the same location; at another location and came back; etc. this svcks because I've been putting off the main story mission because I don't have him and I'm almost level 30 now.

Okay....

So, he was in Diamond City; waiting outside the house... That I haven't ever had the need to go back to without dog with me.

I can't be the first person who assumed when they said "have Dogmeat check it out", that it would mean you go and get him from his hometown... And not be waiting there.

Whatever, probably 2.5 hours of my life wasted.
