Can't find the Warning.txt

Post » Mon Jul 29, 2013 6:25 pm

Several times on approaching Windhelm Stables, the game either freezes or CTD. My game is basically vanilla landscape. With exception to travelers and bandits mod that wander all the roads, I have no mods that affect this area. I Can't find the Warning.txt and the Event Viewer records nothing. I decided to toggle mapmarkers to get in Windhelm. Thee is no problem there, so it is around the stables area that the game goes down. It has not happened anywhere else. I also read somewhere that when the save files reach a certain size [me 8,137m, never overwrite, always manual save], the game goes down.

Warning.txt is a carryover from Morrowind and doesn't actually function in Skyrim as far as I know.

Have you checked your Papyrus log? Does it happen with a new character?

Except for Papyrus Compiler, I found no file called Papyrus.log [files and folder search].I found Windhelm Stables to be a crowded area. A dozen guards, eight running companions, a few horses, perhaps two dozen wildlife in the area, wandering travelers put another dozen npcs in the area, and a fifteen member bandit raid that got ugly at the stables. Can having an abundance of moving things in one place bring down the game?

Yes the game engine is only stable with a limited number of NPCs at one location. I believe it gets unstable at around 15-20 actors.

Make sure to enable http://tinyurl.com/laqrr5k.

Edit: I had to use a URL shortener because the forum was refusing to correctly parse the address with an apostrophe in it.
