Can't Find What Mod Keeps Spawning These

Post » Sat Dec 24, 2016 2:23 pm

Just started playing again from a long hiatus, I still have the same mods from long ago.

TL;DR: A mod has spawned many Dwarven mechanical NPCs (Spheres, Dwarven Spiders, Giant Dwarven Mech Giants) all over the map in excess and they keep killing my newly made character unless I go around them which isn't always possible.

I've been going through as many as I can reading and looking them up online and disabling them but I can't find the exact one that is causing this.

Could anyone help?

Post your Load Order and someone can probably spot the problem right away. (instead of guessing.) ;)

Not only load order.... and not guessing.... Probably the first thing you should do after posting the load order is update all the mods that are still around. And did you update the game itself to the latest version?

I'd love to post my load order but NMM isn't working correctly at the moment, it isn't categorizing my mods at all no matter what I do.

So my mods aren't showing up in the NMM folder for me to cop/paste unfortunately.

Though..

I disabled all the mods but the necessities and now the annoying things are gone.

Have to just spend all my time narrowing down which one it is.

Thanks though, team!

Do you use wyre-bash? because the list would be there also.

Nope, never heard of that before. :o

Just looked it up, guess it could be a good alternate to use.

For next time, go to the Plugins tab in NMM. You'll see a couple of icons with arrows down the left sidebar area. Hover over them: one says import, the other says export. Click the Export button, and either select "Copy to Clipboard" and then paste into Notepad; or save as a text file.

On PC, there is an easy way to find the plugin.

Active teh console, click on it. the first 2 numbers (or Number & letter, as in 2F) state the mod's load order #.

I can't remember if it was in Oblivion or Skyrim but I had a mod that gave a spell that when cast at something would give what mod or DLC created it. Don't know if someone made a version for Skyrim. It would also be nice to have a spell when cast at some static would give the cell name that it was in.

It's not a spell, but http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/44596/? does that and more for objects you click on. And http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/27855/? seems to be useful for finding out which cell you are in.

As far as I know, this command is only available in Morrowind.
