Can't get body mods working

Post » Wed Mar 09, 2011 3:37 am

Hey!

I'm not sure exactly what is wrong and I've done this like a hundred times before... Basically, I started the game without them and now I wanted to install HGEC and Robert's Male. Problem is that while the nifs are in place, the textures are in place, the game keeps the vanilla body. For both sixes.

I installed them with BAIN and I've used the packages before so I doubt the problem is there. Tried New Game, tried only loading vanilla with a body mod bashed patch (Robert's has an esp), nothing works.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

BTW - if it matters, I'm using the Steam version.

Thanks!

Sounds like an archiveinvalidation problem to me.

Wrye Bash already places ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!.BSA into your data folder, so make sure you have it registered in Oblivion.INI. It has to be the very first BSA registered, as well, otherwise it won't work properly.

Thanks for getting back to me.

Unfortunately, that doesn't do it. Any other ideas?

I can post a load order too, but at the moment I've only got the body mods and Better Redguards, along with the Bashed Patch so there's not much to look at.

Cheers!

How did you install HGEC? If using BAIN you need to right click the header where the file names are and check BSA Redirection. That should automatically put the archiveinvalidation.bsa in the ini file search string.

Roberts male gets imported with tags in wrye bash.

Now when you say it uses vanilla textures, you mean for male and female?

I did the BSA Redirection thing and reinstalled all of them. Now they're working! Much obliged!

The weird thing is that I don't remember doing that ever before.

Also weird is that I downloaded ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated! from TesNexus and ran the "installer" version - so that should have done the same thing the BAIN setting did.

Ah, they weren't using vanilla textures, they were using vanilla meshes and textures - it was like the mods weren't there.

Anyways, thanks for the help!

Glad its working. I usually forget to check BSA Redirection in BAIN when reinstalling everything. I used to do this in OBMM but do not use that much anymore.

Never used the standalone archiveinvalidation, seems redundant now. Good gaming.
