Can we get a cloth map with LE?

Post » Sun Jan 09, 2011 5:57 am

I don't know about you guys, but I'd easily pay more to get a cloth map with the limited edition of Skyrim.
Pretty much it, though. Would you pay a little extra for a limited edition cloth map?

Was wondering this morning what they could add, and I do agree. I am very glad of the map, but if they could make one in a less modern way - cloth, parchment-like paper - I'd be happy as hell.

I've edited the post to not include a set price. I was just stating that I'd pay up to 10 dollars extra for it, if you wouldn't that's fine, but the point is would you pay extra at all for it.

I would easily pay the 10$. The maps a nice bonus, but the company has earned my respect and trust over the past years, so I would not mind giving that extra 10$.

If that is all that came with it then no. I need an extra quest or some kind of DLC to even consider paying extra for a collector's edition or limited edition.

I would love a cloth map. I have begun hating my paper ones from oblivion and GTA and RDR because I'm afraid of tearing them every time I open em. Cloth or leather like maps would be amazing. As for other things that might go into a LE, I am not sure but I'll think about it. Please for the love of Mara please do not "add"(and I use that term loosely) any armor or DLC type things that are impossible to obtain without doing so.

Of coarse, I'd like for other things to be in the LE as well, but a cloth map is really what I want the most. I really think that cloth maps add a nice value to the LE that no other item can. It's just nice.

Sounds amazing, I would totally pay for it. They should add this and a statue of the Dovahkiin from the trailer to the Collectors Edition of the game.

Wonder that they will add past that. I do hope they'll issue also a lore booklet like last time. And what else ? A metal miniature of the engraving ? It is what is most iconic for now.

They should carve maps into animal hides, and then ship them along with the collector's edition. :disguise:

Same here actually. I just hope it's included. :o

I can't imagine it'd be very expensive. 2-3 dollars per map?

That'd be something new. :talk:

Well I would like that, it would be nice to have and all... But I don't want it to be the big item in the collector's edition.

Considering how successful the franchise has been I think they should consider making a SUPER UBER MEGA ULTRA COLLECTOR'S EDITION!!!!

This would be awesome! Maybe not $10 just for the map, but I'd gladly pay 10 bucks extra for the limited/collector's edition, no matter what!

Why not?

Because I have never seen a game do it well. It is never something added to the game but something removed as incentive to buy the LE and add a few more bucks to their profits. Same thing goes for pre-order bonuses. They always seem to be a negative for the majority of gamers. I remember RDR having multiple DLC outfits but you could only get one depending on which store you pre-ordered from. Amazon and gamestop and wal-mart would each give you a different item and there was no way to buy it separately so if you wanted all three you would need to buy three copies of the game. I really just do not like how these things work out and would rather see something physical that is not necessary or beneficial for gameplay. I love the booklet and coin that came with Oblivion and those kinds of things that someone who loves the world of Skyrim would treasure but the casual gamer would not miss when they go to buy the game a week later.

I'd buy a cloth map. As for other things, a lore book to help us get the jist of the last 200 years, a small metal replica of the broken dragon crest, a mini statue of the dragonborn, maybe even another book that contains the bulk of many of the other ingame stories, and any of their counterparts in the past games. Why that last one you may ask?

I simply wish to one day have the complete copy of the lusty argonian maid. That little thing on its own justifies the last item I think. xD What did other collector's editions games have? Not just TES, but other games in general.

Totally agree. I don't like LE/CE exclusive DLCs but I HATE store exclusive DLCs...it's so frustating thinking you can't have them all :banghead:

I don't know. I came across one of my old cloth maps for Baldur's Gate the other day and...it's rather pathetic looking. It's slightly larger than a mouse pad and the cloth itself is made from some really thin material. It's not what I think of when I think of cloth. I'm voting no for now but I would vote yes if it were made from good material and was a decent size.
