Even on easy I am getting owned by those golden geckos. I am using a crappy spear you get in the first area. Can anyone maybe point me to some early cash or a one handed gun? I took the perk that makes 2 handed guns svck.

you can try Gambling for some caps. Do some small quests for cap and XP. Walk around find people to talk to. F2 has alot of small quest with good XP and you can get Caps and weapons. If you are having trouble now keep going to new locations and do help people, talk with them. There are people needing help or have things you can do for them. You will come back to the same town more then once so you can kill the geckos when you have more skills and weapons. You can learn to skin them for caps. I can't say how, well I can but this section will not let me it is a spoiler. Read what people in the game are saying that is a big help. If you are in Klamath go to Trapper town.

If you're talking about the geckos by Whiskey Bob's hut, well, leave. Come again later, maybe even after visiting Vault City.

A good strategy to get some money - altho' it includes some trial and error - is to hope for a random encounter were a battle is already taking place. Just wait for them to kill each other, kill the survivors and loot the bodies for some serious firepower, money and armor.

Keep an Eye out for a CAR and Car parts!
