I can't get into Morrowind....

I bought the Morrowind GOTY edition about a week ago (and installed the Graphics overhaul, couldn't get all the features working tho) and I started playing. I already deleted my saves and started off with another character shortly after I did some side-questing in Balmora, because I found she wasn't right for the way I'd like to play.

So now I'm playing with a character with the right skills, I've explored Seyda Neen, Balmora, Caldera, Pelagiad and Ebonheart, did a few side-quests and some guild-quests for the Thieves and the Fighters, joined the Imperial cult, did some freelance stealing and dungeon diving, freed some slaves I found, and I barely even touched the main quest (just went and met Caius Cosades, that's it) but now I'm kind of bored with the game. Not really bored but, I don't want to open it up and play it you know? People had told me it would be hard to overcome the graphics, the lack of voice acting and the tedious combat and I guess they were right.

Do you have any ideas to keep myself interested in it? Or should I just give up and read a book?
