Windows 7 64 Bit.
Running:
BOSS
Wyre Bash
OBMM
OBSE 1.2.416
Oblivion has been patched up to 1.2.416 as well using the non-SI patch.
I don't have GOTY but do have the original retail disk of Oblivion, Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles.
Running a myriad of mods.
I'm getting an error 740 even though I've got everything set to run as an Admin. I've even gone so far as to run everything in XP with SP3 compatibility mode.
The game is installed on a Samsung 1tb drive aptly named; A:\GAMES and it is not on my system drive.
I was not able to get the game patched using the SI version of the 1.2.416 patch because it told me that it couldn't find the correct patch even though it saw the version number. When I looked it showed me I was at some weird version number of 1.1 and 1.2.210 or something like that. But there was a .dll file in the directiory with the 1.2.416 patch number. I deleted it and it still would not patch using the SI version. It did work when I used the non-SI version.
Has anyone else run into this? Is there a fix or am I stuck being unable to play this game? The frustrating thing is that Morrowind runs fine but I can't get Oblivion to run.
I believe my mod load order is correct, nothing is showing up red in BASH and I use BOSS to sort them. I've tried to run the game with the DLC, without the DLC, with the mods, without the mods. It CTD's with a, "Oblivion has stopped responding" error on top of the 740 error.
