Can we get some bonuses for wearing robes?

One thing that disappointed me in Oblivion, was the fact that robes were not part of the armor set, and mages were simply left to choose heavy or light armor. Instead, could we have like a single armor skill, and then implement robes via the perk system? They should hopefully offer some greater benefits for mages, since a mage in full Daedric armor was never really conventional. Maybe hinder magicka regeneration in heavy and light armors, or something of the sort? And please,
at least include some types of robes!

I'm going out on a limb and guessing robes will have a high enchantment capacity, assuming that aspect of enchantment is back. Would be a good way to add use to them and encourage mages to wear them.

I agree with this - light armor and heavy armor classes have a lot to play with in terms of their armor loadout. There is a lot of customization ability lost in MW and OB (OB was worse - no armor under robes) when you decide to play a robe wearing mage.

Yeah I have to agree, their should be a bigger penalty for pure mages wearing Armour, battle mages should be able to choose a perk which decreases this penalty so they can wear Armour.

your spells are more effective when you have robes instead of armor on

i don't know about a pentalty for wearing the armor. But i think it should be like this...when you play a warrior armor is essential to have the best. u want the best armor. u want better quality robes because they give you more magika maybe. Robes should increase your magika and magika regeneraation. and there should be as many kinds of robes as armor. they shuld also have enchantments.

Armor takes away from your magic effectiveness, clothes don't. That said, mage robes and your bare back give the same result. Having robes increase your magic effectiveness would give them a purpose

Robes are like crowns. are meant to reflect your status. Nothing more, nothing less. There is no other reason for mages to wearing them. Armor already penalised magic in Oblivion. No need to penalise more. If you are a mage and know how to wear an armor, good for you.
