Can we get the option to re-name settlers?

Not all the time. I have 6 supply routes and only one of them (or two, I can't remember) has taken the name Provisioner. The others are still Settler.

Also, that advice about giving them a renamed item is pure gold! I did that last night and it has made life a lot easier. Thank you.

Edit: I have (if I remember the numbers) three provisioners called "Provisioner", two named "Settler" and one named "Worker". Go figure. :-)

That's odd, I have over 20 provisioners currently, and every one of them is labeled "Provisioner". Sadly, that label sticks if you re-assign them, so end up having to move them to a settlement that needs a provisioner to avoid confusion.

This is a great idea! I 100% agree, would also help improve the immersion imo since you wouldn't know the settlers that have been living on your doorstep simply as 'Settler'!

I would be an idiot and name them all "D**khead" for my own amusemant, completely wasting the actually useful potential of such a feature.

Yes please! I've been colonizing Spectacle Island. It's big, really big. So I have a bell for such things. It's great that I can gather new settlers that wander around but then my other settlers group up as well. So now I have a group of new and old settlers that I'll need to reassign because I don't know who goes where. Because this Island, while awesome, is too frikken big!

Names or titles please.

Based on the great advice from this post, here's what I have done.

All my nameless settlers get given their uniform when they arrive. Road leathers or athletic outfit (i.e. some DR 2 clothing items).

Those who get assigned to a store get a formal hat (e.g. fedora, bowler).

Those who get assigned to a bar get a fancy hat (e.g. sea captains hat).

Those who get assigned to scavenger posts get a grey knit cap.

Those who get assigned to guard posts get a helmet and a better weapon.

Named settlers get better gear (underclothes and leather pieces) and a better weapon. Except for Marcy Long. I have to suffer listening to her complain so she gets to suffer in nothing but long johns.

Provisioners get a drifter outfit and a combat helmet and a weapon that has been renamed to indicate their supply route.

That way, if I see a settler with no headgear, I know it is safe to assign them to some task. :wavey:

Thanks all!

Not a bad idea, but honestly, I want some npcs to be *easily* spotted. Like shop keepers either have a Tux or a red dress. It keeps things interesting. I am even playing with the idea of making different types of settlements. Like a settlement with nothing but ghouls. Or an Amazon settlement.

Or a brotherhood settlement. Throw a set of brotherhood uniforms on all the settlers, and equip them with beam weapons.

It'd be nice if a Settler management menu was added to a terminal connected to a recruitment tower.
