Can't get Unnecessary Violence/Deadly Reflex to work properl

Hello, first post here.

I got FCOM Convergence up and running properly and the next two mods I tried to add to my collection (Deadly Reflex and Unnecessary Violence) are conflicting somehow. I have ran both of the mods together without FCOM and they worked great. When I would start the game after loading Unnecessary Violence and/or Deadly Reflex for the first time it would ask where I would like to bind the keys for different actions (bash,dodge etc).

My problem is after using a clean Oblivion install to install FCOM on (and FCOM running properly), with either Deadly Reflex or Unnecessary Violence it will not allow me to bind the mods added actions to any keys. In the case of Deadly Reflex the message pops up to bind "Bash", after clicking done, none of the other actions will allow me to bind and with Unnecessary Violence no message comes up at all. The only message that is new to me that may or may not be a factor is a new Torch Bind Message.

Any help would be appreciated as I truly did like both Deadly Reflex and Unnecessary Violence and would like to add those options with a fresh new experience of FCOM. Here's my load order (providing I do this properly).

- I do have Wrye bash's master list updated,OBSE v18,Nifscript, and Pluggy installed as well. I am new to Wrye Bash. I noticed there were some messages next to a few mods on the list, not sure what to/how to adjust/fix them either.

If no DR messages come after the first one, the reason is usually 100% obvious: you forgot to launch the game via obse_loader.exe.

Then there′s no Obse′s "getkeypressed" functions loading, and thus DR can′t detect the keys you press (and the mod would break otherwise as well).


But incase you are loading via obse_loader.exe, there′s a slim chance it′s because Oblivion has a problem with multiple mods trying to display message boxes at the same time. In this case, disable either DR or UV, and configure the one remaining first.

Then save, and re-enable the other one. This way, their pop-ups won′t conflict each other. :)

Thank you so much for replying and for the great mod you have made, Deadly Reflex. I am honored that you would take the time to answer my questions.

OBSE was the problem, I did manage to get Deadly Reflex to work with FCOM with a bit of a hitch that I am still working on. I am using the steam version of Oblivion and the OBSE loader for steam does not work independently. When I click on the application, it gives me a message to start it via Steam rather than the OBSE loader. While trouble shooting before coming to the boards with the dilemma, I ran across a a post http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-900993.html (for reference to anyone else that may have this problem in the future), where an employee of Steam modified/created a new steam OBSE loader that would work, so I had downloaded and installed that. The OBSE loader now works independently and I can load Oblivion with that exe.

The problem I had was once I got Deadly Reflex to work with FCOM and was able to bind bash,dodge etc., I tried to get Unnecessary Violence (in conjunction with FCOM and Deadly Reflex) and when I relaunched the OBSE Launcher that had worked before, I was at square one and Deadly Reflex did not work anymore. After about and hour and half of trying multiple things, I finally figured out that the only way I have been able to get FCOM and Deadly Reflex to work with the OBSE loader was to actually close the Steam application that runs in the background each time. I am going to mess with a few more ideas on an alternative as that seems a bit tedious. I have yet to see FCOM run with both Deadly Reflex and Unnecessary together, (twice I was able to get FCOM and Deadly Reflex to work), but I have a feeling it won't be long until that will be solved.

Thanks again for responding and helping me fix my issue (as well as the great mod!), I look forward to Deadly Reflex 6 when it is released.
