Can havok be placed on clothing?

Post » Sun Feb 13, 2011 2:09 pm

As topic title. I was curious because if it could be done. Wouldn't it give a better more natural flow to the way characters look if their clothes would have at least gravity. It would sag and use the the naked characters collision to interact with thus giving a much more realistic look.

Thoughts?

as a side topic similar vein-

Can havok be placed on characters? While they are alive? So for example. Hair can move while the character moves. briasts jiggle, etc....

Hahaha..
briasts jiggle..

But, I don't think that can work. If it were possible it probably wouldn't be easy.

Simple answer. No.

The engine does not support any of that in its current state. Bethesda has apparently been trying to get things like that to work since Oblivion.

Okie dokie. Had to ask. briasts jiggling....well....that would be simply amazing. hair blowing in the breeze. Clothing that in real time would shift and move like normal clothes. etc etc =)

The slightly longer answer is that softbody animation is much more expensive (in terms of computing power) than rigid body animation.

this. I very much doubt it's not that they can't or couldn't.

there are techniques to do this for bones. just not in this engine.

a cheap way to simulate actual jiggle bones on briasts/bum, is to very, very, slightly rig the briast to the foot bone. iirc this was how that effect was accomplished in Ob. While you can't add havok to live actors, you can add tricks to rigging.

you could also add a couple bones to the skeleton. then modify several animations to bounce them.

this was done for oblivion. very over the top super skeleton nif was made. but the modder never actually provided an animatable rig to use with the skeleton, so hardly any one used it to animate with. so it was a slightly pointless resource, as 90% of the work would have been to actually create the rig so you can animate it propertly.

same thing would need to be done with a F3 version. but as yet I don't think anyone has made a biped/bone rig or rigged armature for blender that matches the F3 skeleton. and a couple years in, i doubt anyone will bother now.

Of course. briasts wobble slightly when they move, it's just a thing that happens. Last I checked they weren't made out of steel. It's, of course, nowhere near dead or alive levels, but it's certainly just as important for a believable animation as, say, a cape or dress waving. There don't have to be any sixual connotations at all, it's purely a decent animation sort of thing.

Its fairly easy to do in Max just import the SKeleton -> add the two jiggle bones -> set up the Reactor Havok Sim -> import each Anim and just run Reactor Havok Sim -> Export.

The entire Process might take someone like me 1-2 days now someone else without a damn clue as to how to set up Reactor Havok or do squat in Max it might take a year ! :)

I have no real interest in Jiggling Women or I would have already done this, I do not use any porm mods either so its not a prime concern of mine to have realistically jiggling as well.

99% of the work for this would be creating the animations, creation of the skeleton is at best 1% because it is by far and away the easiest part. :)

I doubt one exists for Blender but one absolutely exists for Max :) it exists for both the https://7088857566930342337-a-1802744773732722657-s-sites.googlegroups.com/site/saidenstorm/FO3Rig1stPerson.jpg?attachauth=ANoY7colRpy9YGxRwXXPmLjAbkYHoaKjTplZRLFSvV9RWEdnm-IqVO8qJ-alEMohkXLTgcnlU3JG791XBRCxBMb8YgvVFA5yqY1WYk2ZciXQpREBsZBYgQm-7WKemySvOmiEc-sCKhmZmXyJ_YS_hSs14skuezK_zlTa_jWkO0jIgJ3feS0W35SRoa5J6dMBd-h6zNJs2mMQLoQoFOYmdWhng7_ASJJFGA%3D%3D&attredirects=0 and https://7088857566930342337-a-1802744773732722657-s-sites.googlegroups.com/site/saidenstorm/FO3Rig3rdPerson.jpg?attachauth=ANoY7cpfApG0GDosNW6ZZBDH4bzLAZtDmysrDDqWrjaKmdgMWb708X74Fge9EH4qWjfYk8Ta4NYHKLNVe6ZMJc3UGatqX6zEcDbohcuSkIiOiCMN2Zj05iKoK4mHXltJJWYkpEhs20zRjt0Lq1whmOWEUsCKQ_hMdIzRwiY4pe8FG0NiDUuc6WlWHAOZsuSLnaCiIJgd1mJHSXrsBPflSb_NFm86lDtJ0Q%3D%3D&attredirects=0 person skeleton's

i meant generally. :D

and i also know at least 2 other people that have max biped set up to work with F3 animations. none are released as resources.

Unless I misunderstood OP, it was also a question of things like clothes and hair being affected by gravity and the movement of the wearer.

that's correct. < and one way i suggest that can simulate this, is with bones and baking it into animations.

Capes blowing is to men as briast jiggle is to women.

Essential.

Wow...I couldn't have guess this would be of so much interest 0_0

Adding a few more of my 2 cents here. I think jiggling briasts and suttle butt jiggle as well would add much to my game. Especially with that new mod adding buffs/perks for those going nvde ^_^

Oh....uhm....yes, and naturally hair in the breeze.....I dunno, maybe some clothing....capes, yes....Capes would .....oh who am I kidding T&A RULES !!! lol >;D

Have to admit though. This would be immensely popular. If it would work on multiple body types/flavors also. I personally like to use 2pac4eva7's body and have dimon type3 Alice for my companions via, Jessi/Kelsey mods.

@SaidenStorm- Care to bring dreams to reality? hehehe

Yeah.. Pretty much that.
Girls have interest in those body parts? Maybe if they're lisbian or bisixual, but straight?

but straight?

yep. I have talked, quite often actually, with all the girlfriends I have ever had about attractiveness, And yes, they do say point blank, "wow she is very sixy, her is amazing, the way it's like, blah blah, and her skin, etc...
It's not surprising to me anymore when they are talking about one particulars girls bottom for about 15mins. Usually in a good way.
I just smile. :)

You do realize many of us possess jiggling briasts of our own? Why not have them in game?
As for male parts, I'm picturing a not-very-attractive angle. :nope: It may be best if we leave the jiggling to the female body mods

If there's jiggling of briasts, then there shold be jiggling of the male body part. That would really make me laugh.
