Can Illia be married, AND killing Housecarls...

Post » Thu Aug 25, 2016 4:44 am

Is it possible for a male on Xbox 360 to marry Illia?

Next question: I want to become Thane of Riften and obtain Honeyside, but I don't want the housecarl. I just want it to be myself, and Illia.

If I kill Honeyside's housecarl, what are the consequences, and will the corpse ever clean up, or just stay there the rest of the game?

Thanks in advance anyone/everyone...

Illia is not marriageable NPC so on console it is not possible to marry her.

Housecarl's comes with house. you can take Iona as your follower and get her killed somewhere or fus ro dah her from some mountain. problem solved. if you will kill her inside your house then her corpse will remain there forever because your all of your houses are no reset zone.

Thank you so much for the information. Really, though? No possible way to marry Illia? Geeze that svcks! This was the only solution I could come up with to get to keep her as a permanent follower. I am referring to when the Special Edition for Xbox One comes out. This was my plan. Massive bummer. ??????

Illia is listed as a permanent follower according to UESP ( http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Followers#Permanent_Followers ), becoming available after you complete her quest.

The option to make her a follower after that quest may not appear in her dialog options if you have Hearthfire DLC installed. This is a known, UNpatched bug.

You may be able to get around that bug by reloading a save to sometime during her quest when she follows you, and then leaving the area with her and going to a Hearthfire house and asking her to be steward. If it works she will be bound to that house as it's steward, but will also have her options to be a follower put back in her dialog.

She can also be recruited into the Blades, which also lets her follow you.

With the Special Edition comes mods, and you may be able to find a follower mod that can help with your plan. Some current pc mods can turn almost any NPC at all into a permanent follower. Might be worth looking into when the time comes.
