Can't install GOTY edition.

So I can't install the game for some reason. Whenever I put in the disc and run the Oblivion Launcher I hear maybe one second of the launcher music, then it stops and nothing else happens. I don't get the launcher screen or anything, I just hear a fraction of the launcher music. Running the setup.exe yields nothing. I've tested the disc on another computer and it works fine. I can read the disc perfectly on the one I'm installing too, just can't install it.

I've tried the InstallShield fixes but it doesn't seem to be the problem. I've tried turning off Virtual Drive Managers but it doesn't help either. Everything else works fine so I'm at a loss here, it doesn't help that I can't remember installing the GOTY edition before (I just unpacked it).

Any help at all would be much appreciated.

EDIT: I've checked the DVD drive region settings aswell, it's all in order.

EDIT: I tried installing it through a network with the disc in my laptop. Same thing happens, I can read the disk fine etc. from the main computer but when I try to run it, it doesn't want to work :(, I figure the problem has to be some sort of software issue, no clue what though. I've thought about InstallShield but seeing as the launcher doesn't even want to start (hence InstallShield doesn't begin to do it's stuff, I think...) it seems unlikely. I did some searching also and some people have had problems with SecuROM, so I followed http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/98241-25-remove-securom-malware-uninstalling-bioshock-demo this guide, but to no avail.

EDIT: I reinstalled windows (Now was a good time as any) and it magically works now. Still no clue what was wrong, I hate computers sometimes :/
