OK, can we keep the threads friendly?

Post » Wed Apr 13, 2011 6:55 am

OK I'm really tired of all the hate. I myself enjoy BRINK, others may not, but that's besides the point. what I'm getting at is if you hate the game THAT much, why even keep talking/discussing about it?

Things I'd like to see changed around here...

1. Using well thought out reasons as to why you DON'T like the game instead of just making a thread/post saying "This game svcks, I wasted my money".

2. Perhaps less trolling? A troll is a troll, no matter how good or bad.

3. It's DAY ONE for Pete's sake. I can make a list of games with multiplayer that have failed on day one. Stop being biased because it's just been released, give it a couple weeks, and things should be fine.

4. If you spot a troll, don't revoke his troll instincts. Trolls are like wild animals. They attack on sight. OR in this case, on post.

Can't we just get along? Don't make me turn this internet around young men....

Notice how all the people ranting are ones who have never really posted here before. Yes, this happens with every game that I know of, but it's pretty easy to just ignore them. Honestly, giving attention to those sort of threads just keeps them around longer.

i was just thinking the same thing. seems like everyone has a problem now 24 hours ago, they were all fine and dandy, getting along fine. then Brink comes out and everyone turns into a dike. wtf? why is there any need to be that hostile? if you don't like it, don't comment. its that simple.

A troll is someone not talking about the game.

If I stated reasons "why not to buy this game" this that is not trolling.

But if someone replies "Broke Back mountain is better" that is trolling.

OR can you just take all your down with BRINK rants and raves over to herehttp://www.splashdamage.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=17 . So those of us who enjoy the game can gather around the campfire and sing "koom bi ya" so we can put all the ugliness behind us...

Seems like jackasses are on both sides of the fence. People are posting valid complaints and getting flamed or people are trolling positive posts.

If someone has issues with this game, they probably should post in the splashdamage forums. The devs might actually read those.

Threads are totally friendly over there.

95% of the complaints are uninformed, opinionated, or just plain petty, and in most cases from 360 players or those looking for a twitch CoD fix with no depth.

Just ignore the posts, they'll go away eventually.

The underlying factor I see from all these posts is...XBox360 players, dissatisfied. PS3 players, content in spite of no mp currently. PC players, mixed reviews. Here's how I see it breaking down, of course there's always the possibility I'm misguided and incorrect.

360: A question I want to pose to the 360 players that appear to be dissatisfied with the game's graphics and gameplay...are you running this game on HD (screenshots from devs are always in HD nowadays) and since the game is P2P, how good is your ping? I'm assuming (by their levels of intellegence and lack of info) that the same people who are complaining are the ones using SD (standard def, not SplashDamage) and dialing up using 56kbps (sarcasm, I'm using an extreme example) Maybe they're experiencing latency due to a slow connect/transfer speed or XBL services just aren't up to par for the game. Who knows, as I haven't seen any of 'em post their system set-up specs. Or I'm sated with reading all the negative and redundant posts from 'em and may have missed the relaying of that info somewhere.

PS3: being as how they're not able to experience the game in its entirity and they seem to be enjoying it in spite of that, my hopes for Brink have been re-instilled. These players should be complaining the most and yet they seem to be the most satisfied. But their lack of mp may be the reason they're content for the time being. Time'll tell. At least this is a testament to the games sp.

PC: With the wide array of rig set-ups, I only consider the opinions of those with high end set-ups being as how an inferior rig will taint one's opinion to the game's quality (or lack of). And with that in mind, the majority of users have an overall positive experience with the game. Albeit I have heard of alot of tech issues with the PC versions...welcome to the world of PC gaming. If you thought the software would be bug free upon installation, shame on you...unless you're new to PC gaming. And dedicated servers take time to stabilize. You all should know that by now. The game was just released. Now I can understand console players EXPECTING a quick fix, but that's because the majority of 'em are casual players and have no idea about the time frame for patches, but PC users should be used to this by now.

So with all that and having just recieved delivery for my game, of course I'll be dropping back by and posting my $.02USD on it. If the game svcks that much, there are 101 uses for an acrylic disk.

My problems are with the overall game. Nothing that I find wrong with the game is something you can blame it on being "The first day". I do not play Call of Duty, and I am no troll. Brink is not a fun game. I detailed why in my own thread.

Honestly love Brink, and I'm a 360 player mainly. I just love the fact that the majority of people that are complaining, are only complaining because they can, or because the game isn't suited to what they as an individual want.

Not all FPS are CoD. People need to realize this and get over it.

This place was very friendly until the game hit the shops.. But it will have to go some to be as nasty as the Black Op's forum

I'm loving Brink by the way. I never get totally svcked in by all the hype so it's lived up to my expectations.

Now if Sony can get their act together it would be great to play it online :brokencomputer:
