I can't load my old skyrim game!

Post » Fri Dec 05, 2014 10:18 pm

I didn't like patch 1.9 because of the speech glitch. (I had a lot of stolen goods I needed to sell and my speech was only at 40 something. Also the stuff I wanted to sell was worth a lot and the merchants didnt have enough money) so I deleted it and made a new skyrim character. After a while, I realized it wasn't worth it. So I wanted to go back and play with my old one. So I turned on my Internet and installed patch 1.9 . But when I wanted to load my game, IT WASN'T THERE. I went to check in my saved memory. AND IT WASN'T THERE. I have a playstation. Please please please help me. I was so far into the game. Please.

Wrong Forum, you are in the Elder Sroll Online Forum, try it in the Skyrim Forum, and you deleted your char so proberly the savegames are gone too.

You might be able to restore your saves folder from a previous version?

Otherwise you're pretty much screwed, dude. You should just make a new character and not delete an old one in the future. Sorry man, I, too have lost characters to impulses.

edit: Oh damn, sorry I didn't see the PS4 part. I don't know if you can restore saves on the PS4 once deleted. Second half of my post holds true though.

I'm so pissed! I didn't even save over it . It shows up at when you first start playing as the very first auto save before you start making your character. Idek. I was sooo far into it and its my first and best character . I already passed the thieves guild, dark brotherhood, and the companions. I was married and I had the most expensive house . I did a [censored] bunch of mini quests. My whole life is now deleted.
PS - I'm a girl. Don't call me man.

The save still shows in your game load screen? What happened exactly. Sounds like you corrupted it somehow if that's true and it won't load.

It's gone. See, when you deleted the save, you deleted the save. The reason that first auto save is there is because you didn't delete that auto save which occupies a different slot to your regular auto saves.

If you back up your hard drive to a pc or an external you will be able to restore any saves you have on the backup.

In future buy a PC and you can put copies of your saves in a seperate folder. I have mine in Documents/Backupsvgs.

Wrong forum. (I don't see how people keep making this mistake.)

I think you deleted you first game save?

Honestly, I don't see the point in deleting game saves you're not entirely sure you'll play anymore, what's the harm in keeping it there on your hdd for a little while for you to make up your mind? Surely you're not that hard up for disc space?

Quick, ask them where I left my keys! I haven't lost them but at some point I surely will.

If you use the XMB and look in the saved game data folder, can you see your original game and does it show normally ie,with a picture showing where you were when you made it?

When you look at it, does all the correct text information come up as info?

Are you still running the game under the same account ID you used when you were playing before?

Guys. I DIDN'T DELETE MY SAVE! When I saved my new game I made a NEW SAVE and I never saved over it . But where I saved my old game (I know it's my old game because it has the date and time I last saved it) it has that save where he's about to ask you who you are and you're about to make your character.

So, you actually have the first auto-save that the game have made as you changed your character characteristics (at the beginning of the game)

and lose your old save with level 40 speech right?

But again you said "...so I deleted it and made a new skyrim character "

So who is the problem ??? I don't get it... :D :D :D :D
