Can't lockpick with FCOM?

Post » Fri Nov 12, 2010 5:36 am

I'm using FCOM right now, and when I come to a locked door/chest, if I try to lockpick it it just tells me I'm not strong enough to bash it open. But it won't let me lockpick it! Anyone know how to fix this?

FCOM/OOO sets skill limits on locks. You can toggle that with the following console commands:

Set LapMinLock to 0 <-- lock picking (0 or 1, default: 1)
Set LapBashLockDifficulty to X <-- lock pashing (1-100, default: 30)

OOO ReadMe - http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/OOO/OOO_133_readme.pdf <-- might be worth reading

If you have a weapon drawn, you have to crouch (sneak) to use lockpicking. In OOO, accessing a locked container with weapon drawn means you intend to use the lock bash function.

What gothemasticator said. Wait with changing the parameters until you know what you'd like to have them set at. Much as with drop lit torches, lock bashing is a feature. Don't really understand Tomlong's rush to remove them when users ask about how they work.
