I can't login to Crysis 2 game with my gamesas.com accou

Post » Mon Jun 13, 2011 3:51 am

Well.... seems Crysis2.exe is trying to use IRC channels (at least, that's what McAffee thinks). I noted an error in my log (didn't want to disable the entire anti-virus if I didn't need to) and it said communication was terminated from Crysis2.exe because there is a block rule set up.

I got it to let me log in to the gamesas.com site from in the game (selected the multi-player and put in my nickname and pass from this site).. to do that, I had to open the "on access scan properties" and modify the IRC block rule to "exclude Crysis2.exe" from the rule.

Logged right in after that.. no reboots, firewalls up, etc. etc. (I also recreated the firewall rules as per one video, but that didn't seem to help so I doubt anything on the Windows side matters, but anti-virus software seems to be killing this game's login).

Hope that helps someone. I've seen some seemingly crazy ideas (like 16 char strong passwords) that just make no sense. But Anti-Virus killing IRC stuff did.

I have this bug as well as the flickering bug. One month later and neither are fixed. Granted I don't care about logging in since it will just flicker anyways. ><

Where is my 60$ game I paid for? All I have is useless bits on my SSD's.

How is this not still fixed? I showed some goodwill by keeping quiet for a few weeks and give you some time to get things sorted. That time has now run-out. I have lost all faith in Crytek and no longer consider you a competent PC-game developer.

Don't even bother making a PC port of your games in the future, you clearly do not care for the community.

They have several major stumbling blocks in regards to this issue.

1. The forum accounts aren't merged:
You can log in with your username or your email and have seperate passwords, avatar's etc for both.

2. The accounts are somehow supposed to be linked with gamespy accounts:
If you don't own the gamespy version of the account with the same name as your one here you are probably screwed. You may possibly have even given some stranger your LE content too... (assuming it works on a username basis rather than email - I haven't entered mine).

The problem is in order to fix these problems they'd have to merge these various things, and with the second one there isn't a way to merge the accounts without someone losing their name.

Unfortunately, whether anyone at Crytek is actually actively trying to sort this problem OR even sees this as the MAJOR problem that it is, is very much in question (note upcoming weapon balance changes).

I think you've got the problem. My username "DRK3" is taken on Gamespy.

I was trying to have some goodwill too by being quiet for awhile, but I think time's up. Unless I see something dramatic happen, then this will have been the worst game purchase I think I have ever made, seeing as how I can't even play mutliplayer after a month.

Please get this fixed... sooner rather than later... BTW I like the fact that the editor for Crysis 2 is to be released in August... nice move guy's.. can't wait, I already have ideas for levels... If the AI has been improved as proomised, then this is going to be something I am looking forward to using :)

Guys, I know the solution to this. Unfortunately, it requires changing your nickname to something not taken by another account. Go to http://www.gamesas.com/forums/ucp.php and you'll have to change it to something else, and then it works. I Just changed my name from DRK3 to DRKThr33 and now I can log in. Meh...it'll do.

I can in account settings reset my password, I cannot however use my password here as it doesn't recognize my password at all. I also cannot login to multiplayer at all or register my keys. Problem since pre-order of Steam Limited Edition.

Who cares, Brink releases in like 2 weeks. Crysis 2 can shove it. They've missed their mark by a long shot and this game will go down in history as an absolute failure. It's disgusting that this issue has gone on so long unresolved as it shows a complete lack of regard for their community or their game. I was quick to blame EA, but even EA is no where remotely this bad when it comes to their games. Good bye Crysis 2 as you have officially be uninstalled.
