Can't mod Codsworth

Hello fellow Fallout lovers,



I have Automatron and have modified Ada (who is so far positively useless like Piper. Stands there while baddies are right in front of her but she does nothing while I stand there getting shot at. Nick and Danse are the only useful companions in my game) but am not presented with the option to modify Codsworth. I am only given the options to modify Ada and Curie or create new robot. I have put in 750+ hours into this game since Christmas so I'm fairly familiar with how things go but this has stumped me. Is this some glitch or am I doing something wrong? I haven't finished the storyline for it yet (just got the brain from Hagan) so if I need to finish it then that's fine but its strange that I can modify Curie but not Codsworth so seems like something is wrong. Yes, I've made him a companion and tried to mod him. It did not work.



In case this is helpful, my main settlement is Starlight Drive-in. I have all of the companions I've met so far living there (Strong, Codsworth, Curie, Danse, Nick, Piper etc. Preston and I are boyfriends :wub:) I've redownloaded my game and restarted my PS4 as troubleshooting.



This is my first post so I hope this is in the right place.

Have you tried modifying him while he is your assigned companion? That seems to work! Best of luck!

Per previous discussions on this, Codsworth needs to be a current follower in order to mod him.

By follower, do you mean companion? If so, yes, I've made him a companion and tried to mod him. It did not work.

I doubt it. They say its just like modifying anything else so you can make changes over time as desired. I only modded Ada once so haven't tried it though.

Have you tried moving him to another settlement then building a new craft bench? Or perhaps your affinity has an effect on your ability to modify.

Those are good possibilities. Have not yet tried either but I'll start with affinity and see if it helps. The weird thing is that Curie shows up and I've not dealt with her more than her missions in the vault. Codsworth would have higher affinity than she does.

It's a captcha used here where they give you a photo with parts cut out and mixed up that you have to put each piece in the correct place. Like a puzzle.

I didn't say captchas were the problem. I said the puzzle style one used here is the problem. It's irritating. They could do the "click the pictures with flags" one since they don't want to use words.

I think what dvkillar meant was that Curie must still be a Miss Nanny for you to modify her... unless you can modify her synth body.



Yeah, your font does seem too loud, but then the irritation factor is probably up there with the puzzle captcha, so it's all good... :)



Try moving Codsworth back to Sanctuary and see if that works?

I have the same problem (XB1), only ever get the options to create new automotron, modify Ada, or one I created in the Lair, also as a side issue is it possible to create an eyebot? if so how, I have the schematics but cannot see any options.
