So I'm about 30 hours in, level 19 and I just visited the Abernathy farm for the first time, right outside Sanctuary. I spoke to the guy, accepted the quest to go find his dead daughters locket, and I paused the game to grab some food. Came back, controller was off, reconnected, and unpaused the game. Character will no longer move with the left thumbstick. I can do everything else, jump, crouch, aim, fire, talk to NPCs, rotate around, but I cannot move forwards, backwards, or strafe. In the pause menu the left stick works fine, in the pip boy again, it works fine, in all other aspects of the game, like loading screens, startup screen, it works fine. I tried turning on and off the controller, I tried turning the xbox on and off, I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the controller, I tried a different controller altogether, I tried fast travelling, I tried loading an earlier save, about 10 in a row in fact and it still won't register the left stick. It works in other games, apps, on the dashboard, I just can't [censored] move. Pretty fed up at this point. If I have to start over, well Bethesda got my money, and I'm just done with this game I waited years for. Any new ideas would be appreciated

Just a thought, and I know it's not a good answer but, have you tried switching the thumb sticks in the game settings panel? I'm having a similar issue with my right trigger, it works for everything but attacking/firing. When I switch left and right triggers everything works like it should. But pulling the left trigger to attack is odd and I struggle to remember that. Just curious if the switch would my yours work like mine did.

Very disappointed in this Bethesda. Why would you release a game with this many game breaking bugs. Such a waste of time. Going to sell my copy and play a [censored] game like call of duty. As [censored] as treyarch is, their games still work. Thanks for getting my hopes up

Any solutions to this? I have the EXACT same issue. Nearing the point of returning my Xbox One. Got it just to play Fallout 4
