ok i can now safely say this.

this is by far the most stable bethesda RPG i have played in ages..

when i played F3 again the last year it was less stable in its fully patched state (360) than this one has been at launch.. it still crashes constantly.

so far the most common hicups are what i like to call "the awkward slience" where dialog just stops, which is easily fixed by moving the camera away far enough that you half exit the dialog, and the "Glowing inventory screen" where you examine a item in your inventory and return to the inventory with a brandnew glowly look.

the worst issue i have had was a single instance that caused a lost save (which amounted to almost no loss thanks to constant auto saving) where the start screen loaded infinitely until i restarted the system.. i deleted the one save and have been making sure to quit before shutting down the console.

at this point i have been playing each day since thursday of release week. would have been playing longer but out of town for a funeral. i have already done one playthrough of 48hours playtime and have already passed that and then some on my second playthrough.

nothing as bad as some of the issues i have seen in previous TES and fallouts. not even anything gamebreaking but hilarious like the 1.2 skyrim backwards flying dragons.

I agree. Definitely Bethesda's most stable release on my end! :)

That's one thing I can sure agree on, only crash I had was due to a mod.

I crash quite often when opening the pip boy.

But on average, yes, I agree. It seems to be more stable than previous Bethesda games on release.

Big time FO4 is by far the most stable compared to FO3 & NV have had a few minor hiccups stuck in an inventory screen and such but only 1 freeze up in over 40 hours played

I would like to think that after 18 years they would have started to get it right wouldn't you?

Yup, super stable and solid frame rates for me. I know some people with higher-end graphic cards than mine are having fps dips, but I haven't been able to replicate them at all. Ultra preset, 1080p, and a solid 60 fps.

I've had a few minor glitches and there are some annoying UI issues, but performance-wise, I can't complain.

Yep.. compared to some of the bugs of past games, this one is playing extremely smoothly for me. Most people tend to forget about all the bugs that plagued past games they've played and only compare their nostalgic fuzzy memory to newer titles.

Yup, extremely stable here as well. No framerate drops and only one crash (excusing those that happen when exiting the game, which aren't a big deal). I've also encountered surprisingly few bugs. Bethesda went all-out on QA this time around, it seems.

I dunno, I had the "computer terminal stuck" bug and others experience the same issue far more often then I. Only once for me, common for others. I never had any problems on Oblivion, Skyrim or Fallout 3. Though I did play those much later then release date, so maybe I missed the early bugs.

Seems to be a thread or two about the game suddenly crashing floating around as well. If this is the "most stable" it's not exactly a compliment in that light.

Stable, yea I guess I can't argue. But FO3 and NV never (at launch on 360) contained a bug that wouldn't let me finish the game as I wanted to. Love the game, but I'm
not happy that I had to abandon my first play through unfinished because I couldn't warn a certain character and wouldn't kill her.

Fallout 4 runs just about as well as Skyrim did for me.

Zero CTDs so far, and only a few, very small, quest bugs I was able to easily get around.

Far more stable then Oblivion, Fallout 3, and New Vegas are even now with all their patches.

I thought you were going say that aliens exist in the fallout universe. I get floating skeletons and a 15 second delay with my pip boy in my face after I exit.

It's pretty awesome that I can alt-tab the game and not have my computer explode.
