Can NPC decapitate you?

Post » Tue Sep 27, 2011 7:04 pm

No backstory really necessary about decap being in the game. But my question to the community and maybe to devs is can an NPC decapitate you, the PC? I mean if I am managing my health and I am in a heated battle with an NPC, it would be really frustrating to get my head lopped off when I used most of my resources to keep my health up and to dwindle the NPC..

I do not know, but I think it was confirmed that foes can do finishing moves on you. I wish I remembered where I saw it...

I can understand finishing moves, if I am really low on health, then the last hit as a decap wouldn't be as bad. But is decap purely a finishing move?

I doubt it, but from what I know, I am still seeing fuzzy info on decapitations. Is it rare? Is it as much as Fallout?

Well that's a risk I want to have to take. If I'm facing a deadly warrior with the right perks I want him to have the same advantages available as me. If he gets lucky and crit decaps me... oh well. Such is life in Skyrim.

I like those commercials, some of the most clever I have seen. Those and the old Guiness ones with paper figures, Brilliant! :goodjob:

But you may protest if you get decaped at the beginning or middle of a battle. (hey decaped, Skyrim justs spawned a new term, call Webster's)

I can think along those lines, if I change your scenario just a bit. If I am fighting a warrior maybe a couple of levels higher than I am and he has a decap perk, then I maybe can expect this to happen.

But for a bloke (bandit) the same level as I am or below, not so much.

im guessing so remember the guard that taunted the dragon im sure getting chewed up isn't the dragons opening move and if anyone mentions the giant getting lifted with lots of health remember pals "scripted"

I hope people with appropriate perks and lvl's can decap or use other finishers just as fluently as you can. And i would love for my companions to have a realistic NPC fight with other character's with finisher's, good blocking and everything instead of the toe to toe hit session they had in obilvion..

The perk to instant kill an opponent is not available to NPC.
The finisher move on the other hand is random and might be useable by NPC.

A finishing move only happens at low health. A decap can happen anytime.

Thanks. Sounds like you know a thing or two.. Decap; instant kill not available to NPCs. check

Finishing moves are usable by NPC, pete said that he gets killed by NPC's and the worst thing is when they pull a finishing move on him, so maybe.

It's called a finishing moves for a reason, you have to be at the end of your health to get your head lopped off by the enemy, and vice versa.

You get finishing moves automagically. I think Decap is a perk and not a finishing move.

Its already been confirmed that their is a decapitation perk.

It has also been confirmed that enemy NPC's can execute finishing moves on the PC.

As for the decapitation perk I think it will work as a random chance for an "execute" ability (the enemy you attack has 10-20% health remaining, luckily the decapitation perk triggers on hit and the enemy is instantly killed).
