whenever i try to play skyrim it goes black screen loads and then crashes

You've given us absolutely no info to work from. What exactly is anyone supposed to do to help?

What platform are you on?

Game up to date?

If an PC, have you verified files under Steam?

If on PC, are you using mods?

If on console, have you installed the game to the hardrive?

Hello, pepsiman1967. I got your request and followed it here. Surprisingly, this is one forum that I had not subscribed to. I think it was about the time to do so.

Devern Tarn made good questions. What I would like to know, if this is about black screen, or crashing after Bethesda screen?

If it is the first one, then check settings for your anti virus first. It may be providing a silent pop-up that is known to cause this problem.

For latter case we have a guide in Steam forums to take a look at. Sadly I am not allowed to post links here, so search for "Checklist: CTD after Bethesda screen" from guides section, if you need it.
