Can't patch 1.9 be optional?

Post » Sun Jul 17, 2011 1:54 am

For us who don't have the optimal sys.req for patch 1.9.

I went back to an earlier system restore point to get rid of patch 1.9, then when I started the game it forces me to download it. So frustrating! When you stop the download and start the game again it starts to download again, ha, ha.....this is just so stupid.

Before patch 1.9 I played the game with no problems what so ever but now it's almost unplayable. This svcks a bit.

Bought the game because I knew it would run on my machine. Don't get me wrong....it's playable but can't enjoy it anymore because of all the lags, stutterings and "****".

Luckely I've played all the levels up to "Post Human Warrior" but the game is so fun so I want to play again and again and again. NOW I CAN NOT!

I've done everything possible. Disabled this and that. Read everything there is but nothing works.

Can you bypass the patch 1.9 somehow?

Same here...this 1.9 patch turned Crysis 2 in one big laggy POS. It runs awful. Crytek should fix it back the way it was before!!

I really hope they give us a better alternative to this 1.9 patch. I'm glad for those who can run all latest DLCs but for us who don't have enough in our rigs should be given the option to choose.

For the moment I've uninstalled Crysis 2. The fun is gone :(

I really hope they fix this.

For SP, Ive gotten great results with D3DOverrider V2.01, which forces vsync and working triple buffering on for any game. D3DOverrider is a standalone part of the RivaTuner package, and has made SP DX11-Ultra very smooth on my system. MP is another matter...

Indeed Patch 1.9 was a big mistake. Lag over Lag now. The grafics in MP are so scary now. To much contrast. It midgt look better now for SP but the MP looks ugly.

Thanks! I'll try this some day.

I still think the 1.9 patch should be optional. So many players can't enjoy the game anymore. That's sad really :(

No. It can't be optional not only your client is patched by this. Servers are also updating. And you with lower path will not see server with updated version for 1.9 patch. So all licensed servers are having same update. And that's concludes that they will be accepting the same client patch. That means that difference for licensed servers will be minimal.(game mode and etc is only difference)
So no. It can't be optional.

So we can only hope they will optimize the MP and some graphic in it.
Waiting the next patch and nvidia drivers or ati, to see what's new they got for us in case of optimization and bug-fixes.

will i fixed my problem with the frame issue. i added the main exe to the nvidia program settings list under mange 3d settings. and turn on the following. in the nvidia control panel

power management mode: prefer maximum performance

texture filtering- trilinar optimization: to on

threaded optimization <----- this is for the cpu you have to optimze the duel cores or quad core you have.
turn this to on.

triple buffering: to on

everything else is on defualt mode.

and its fast for me. just ran under fraps 1920X1080 80 fraps
directx 11 on
settings overall is Very High mode. <----------- only thing the nvidia GTX 460 1gddr5 does.
high textures to on.
motion blur to medium mode.
v-sync is on.

my system specs.
cpu- amd althlon II X2 3GHZ 250
system ram- 16gb pc3-10600 (1333)
video card: nvidia gtx 460 1 gddr5 card.
hard drive is where this game is installed:WD mybook 2tb in usb 3.0 5Gb/s speed. and thats my external drive.

to me patch 1.9 made the game run slightly better.

but then again , i ONLY installed the patch , NOT hi-res textures nor dx 11 sh*t.

maybe THAT"s where the problem is ;)

I think you can bypass the patch by starting the game from Crysis2.exe, not Crysis2Launcher.exe.
Hope that helps.

Thanks guys for all the tips =o) I'm thinking of upgrading stuff on my rig but if I deside to install Crysis 2 again before that I'll take all these tips under consideration.

Thanks for your answer!

Okay, I understand but could you not just have the choise to NOT install when it starts downloading? I'm not playing MP, only SP. Logically it should work...or?

Don't remembering quite well but when patch is downloaded there is options saying that you need to agree to with for patch to be installed.

And if you playing only SP, you can run every patch that you want(1.0-1.9 of existed versions.). Just don't launch the game from launcher or it would be updating to latest patch. Launch it from Crysis2.exe
If you like to play SP with patch 1.8 Download patches to 1.8 patch. De-authorize the SN from Acrivation.exe. Deinstall the game, but don't forget about your saves of SP. Install it again. Activate it. Install the patches to what you want. Then play SP. But if you would want to play MP you'll need to update to 1.9 anyway. So It'll be the one sided road. OR SP with 1.8 patched game OR MP and SP with 1.9 patched game.

Of course it does and it's a damn good card.
